Ok thanks for confirming ... I sometimes wear a diamond ring on my right hand (I posted pics awhile ago when I first joined TPF of the ring) Anyway, I was approached my a woman who said that it's slutty because it's mocking the sanctity of marriage? (maybe because wedding rings are traditionally diamonds and are on the left hand? ... ) I'd never heard this opinion so I wanted to know what you guys thought.

She was probably just jealous and insecure in her own love life. People can be so rude sometimes!

In turkey, you usually wear your engagement ring on your right hand, and then move it to the left once you're married, and both guy and girl would have a band....but I don't think that applies anymore lol.

I plan on getting a RHR later (rather than sooner lol) after marriage, kids, house, the whole shabang. I used to be a huge middle finger ring wearer, but for some reason I like the asymmetric look of having a ring on the ring finer (duh! lol)

Umm I have always been taught that rings on your right hand are promiscous and shows that one wants to engage in a physical relationship. I know it may sound odd and when I tell my friends they laugh at me too. But I remember hearing this once when I was a child and it has stuck with me..I was told the right hand thumb is the worst. :

I think it's InSaNe that this women said that to you!!! BAM POW!!!

Now, I think it looks SILLY if someone wears a diamond ring on their right hand that has the style of most engagement rings. (IE: .75ct solitaire with matching band.) I would NEVER make a comment about it though, as I see it as just MY personal opinion!!!

Tons of designers create gorgeous RIGHT HAND rings chuck full of the sparklies!!! Diamonds can NEVER be slutty IMO unless the man (women) your dating has one on their wedding finger and they aren't YOUR husband/wife! LOL KWIM?!

I don't see how wearing a ring on your left ring finger is slutty if you aren't married. That's completely ridiculous.

She meant that the only way jewelry can be slutty is if you're dating a married man/ woman.. I' pretty sure it was a joke. She wasn't trying to say that unmaried people who wear rings on their left hands are slutty.. hope that makes sense.

Really? Who told you this? Saying that someone who wears a ring on their right hand is looking for a physical relationship is as arbitrary as saying that someone who eats Doritos is looking for a hook up. It's just jewelry. Women will often wear jewelry/ rings on which ever finger it best fits on. Or which ever hand works better... This is nonsense to me and sounds like some twisted old wives tale. Sorry..JMHO.
