Good for you girl! I have the same idea, though I wonder if it's a cultural thing. In London for example most people I know buy second hand without giving it a thought. But I have friends from other countries, who find the idea 'disgusting' . Very strange! I would not buy second hand shoes personally, but bags or any clothes that are washable why not? ( or coats even) someone was telling me about two wealthy ladies from Australia visited London & Scotland for a few months. Rather than buying heavy coats new, they bought vintage, used them during their study and then donated to charity. Win win.
This.I would not lie. Buying preloved is not a crime or something shameful. If someone is bothered it's their problem not yours.
I always thought second hand- ok 'pre loved' if you must 😃 to be a smart and eco friendly choice...
Hmmm....no one ever asks me that question. I can't imagine a circumstance in which that would happen.
Wouldn't it be rude and weird to ask if a bag was pre-owned? How would that even come up in conversation??? Do people ask if someone's car is pre-owned or leased? Do they ask if their house was pre-owned or new build? People marry divorced people and adopt children - are they pre-owned? [emoji15] Unless someone is getting info to snag a good deal, isn't this question silly?
And what kind of idiot would judge someone for buying a pre-owned bag? A bag's "origin" is so inconsequential. I hope I never meet / engage with that kind of person. Good grief!
Anyway, the only people I talk with in detail about bags with are my two best friends because we like talking about fashion and the things we have - especially since we have such DIFFERENT taste. Conversations can get hilarious. They know I'm a deal hunter so they likely presume a bag I carry is pre-owned even when it isn't. And they buy pre-owned too. So it really is a non issue.
