do you see any difference in the jewels you keep and the jewels you take off ? In term of durability ?

Do you mean do I see difference in wear n tear?

I'd say yes and no. Those with diamonds, I don't see any suffer. As for the gold, yeah surely I see more scratches than those not removed. I even have a VCA mother of pearl bracelet that goes with me everywhere (you're "not supposed" to shower with it). I don't think it's as glistening now as when it was new. However, I like to max out the ROI. They should be worn and not thinking too much on babying them.

I used to keep the simple gold bands on but then got some kind of allergic reaction - real itchy - possibly due to gunk accumulating under them. So now I remove at night and put back in the morning. I do not remove anything during the day - it does help that I can't stand having lotion on my hands during the day so I don't apply any.

Earrings (simple gold ones) stay in most of the time but I have had a couple of close calls when catching one on the towel, luckily none went down the drain so far (knocking on wood).

That’s my question. Do you think your ring are used faster if you sleep with it or take shower with it ?

and do you think that the jewels you keep on 24/24 are used faster Than those You take off ?

and do you see a difference between the jewels you keep and the jewels you take off in durability, brillance ?

and see difference with the jewels you keep and the jewels you take off ? Are they more used ?

yes but when there is no diamond. Do you think it’s ok or not ?
I don't think gold, silver, platinum or diamonds will be hurt by water. Opals are delicate and I'm sure there are other stones like that. and a watch that's not waterproof can be damaged over time if you wear it when washing your hands.

My sis has a habit of removing her ring while washing her hands in public. She clenches the ring in her lips while doing that (or applying hand cream). I don't approve on that especially now with covid situation but well she really has never ever lost her ring. Haa.
I agree it doesn't seem like a good idea. you could transfer germs from your ring into your mouth. and (even though this hasn't happened in your sister's case) you could possible drop that ring into the sink.

I think jewellers are more concerned by loosening stone-settings than the metal/gems themselves. Enamel shouldn't get wet either.

Take them off at home not whilst out (including washing hands).

I lost 2 rings at yoga. It was an evening class. I forgot to take them off after work.

I took them off, placing them on my bag next to me before doing a headstand. And then we did relaxation and the teacher switched the lights off and din't want to kill the mood by turning them on again. I must have tossed my rings accidentally when I went to put my mat inside my bag. I only realised once home and looked at my hands. Went back next morning early. Nothing.

I'll never take my jewellery off out again.

i don’t think they’re “used faster” but i do think they need to be cleaned more often. there have been stories of people snagging their prongs on their sheets and losing a stone or scratching themselves or their partners while sleeping.

i feel like the majority of married people never take their rings off and have been perfectly fine. my grandparents were married over 50 years and she never once took her ring off or got it checked by a jeweler, besides some minor wearing on the back side it is perfectly intact.

my engagement ring and wedding ring are platinium too. That’s why I wasn’t concerned by wearing them 24/24 7/7. But love and JUC are in white gold so I’m asking mysel if it’s ok to keep them or if I need to take them off every day

Well, the white gold will show wear over the years, such as scratches and stuff. So you have to make sure you are okay with that. But in terms of actual damage like breaking or bending, that won't really happen with the love and JUC unless you really break it somehow, or if it is defective. Both are pretty robust pieces, so I wouldn't worry.

I will admit though, taking your jewelry off is a good habit everyone should practice. I'm just really lazy and always misplace things so I never do lol

Yes I mean wear and tear (sorry for my limited English). Because my engagement ring and wedding ring are in platinum and with diamonds so I’m not afraid about those rings.

but Love and JUC are in white gold so I’m more concerned about it.

I take my rings off as soon as I get home (all of my jewelry, actually). It is habit for me to put them on every morning before I leave and to put them back in the jewelry box when I get home. As for during the day or during travel, I generally don't take them off at all. I certainly don't remove them to wash my hands (that is a really great way to lose a ring, either through forgetting it on the sink or having it go down the drain), and I generally wear them 24/7 while traveling. I've lost earrings due to forgetting them on a nightstand while traveling, so I don't trust myself to remember.
