Do you regret buying a Chanel White bag?

This sound so sad. What a beauty but I guess it can't withstand test of time.
Given the original retail price I assume we were fine with the risk. The interior yellowing really wasn’t that bad given I only saw it when opening the bag. However, I would never repurchase a white Chanel for the current retail price as you never know how a leather batch will change over time. Our bags used to be in the old, sturdy caviar only black and beige come in these days. It was nearly indestructible. Looking at current caviar iterations the risk would be too high for me personally.

I have a medium white classic caviar flap with gold hardware (last of the stamped gold) from 2008 season and it is still incredible. There is not one spot of yellowing. I myself was skeptical but after 13 years it looks good (inside and out). When I store it I do wrap it in archival grade, white tissue paper (the paper is special archival paper which museums store their articles in for preservation and I had to order it from a special distributor). I also store it in its dust bag and never store it sitting out on an open shelf. It is always kept behind the closed doors of my closet which does not have any windows (my closet doors are windowless for fear of sunlight damage). I am not sure how the current season bags will last over the years but I can say, a beautiful white Chanel classic is amazing and it will be the one which I refuse to part with.

I would love a link to the archival paper if anyone has one they like! I love the look of a white CF but too scared to have so much surface area. However I would love a white or ivory WOC and want to care for it well (especially considering it would hit my body a lot with how long WOC chains are...)

No. I love mine. The ones I'm regret is those made out of fabric.
I totally agree about fabric! My deauville started to show wear in no time and it was black!
Regarding white, I’m closely following this thread and reading all the feedback since I’m planning to purchase a white medium CF so it’s great to know many members don’t have any issues

I'm a black and blue bag person but i have 3 different additional colours I want to add on to complete my curation. Then I'll be done. #likereal. And white/ivory is one of them. Keeping tuned to this thread.

I didn’t have the pics at hand earlier but looked through my photos again this morning. The first 2 pics show my bag with the slight yellowing on the inside. Sorry, it may be hard to detect and looks more like a grayish/yellowy cast. The colour difference is easier to see where the edges of the inner and outer leather meet. As mentioned, I don’t think it was particularly bad and I never really paid attention to it. The third picture shows my mom‘s bag. It may be harder to see but the bag overall is not as crisp anymore and the yellowing is most apparent on the edges. Also, it wasn’t apparent when the bag was worn and it was still stunning. I also assume the yellowing depends on the particular caviar‘s coating, so I guess it is difficult to predict. Just sharing these as a reference. I’ve seen white Chanels that aged badly and got truly yellow over time, but this was mostly due to not storing the bags properly. On the other hand we have many members on this forum sharing their bags from the same era as mine and they have remained beautiful and still look brand new. One thing to note is that crisp white is easy to restore or touch up, though.

Can i keep my white chanel in the black/blue dust bag it came with? It came in the seasonal dust bag and i am worried if it will cause any color transfer?

I just received an ivory caviar boy bag yesterday & the black dust bag freaked me out. I’m storing the new bag in a white Dior dust bag. (I have an extra one). Why take a chance?

Makes sense. Let me use a light color dustbag too. Thanks a lot
