Do you regret buying a Chanel White bag?

Nope no regrets, and mine is a white Jumbo in Lambskin! lol I had to purchase mine preloved because I wanted the single flap, and decided I was going to enjoy it without over thinking it & it has worked out for me, I wanted it for my light color outfits so I never worry about color transfer, for everyday I carry my other darker bags. I would really think about it before you decide to let it go though as a white Chanel flap to me is so much more unique than the usual safer colors (Black, Beige, which I also own) However If you find yourself more worried about it than enjoying the look of it then maybe you should consider selling it. I have a m/l white caviar classic flap with gold hardware bought 4 years ago and have never regretted it. I wear it during summer months with light clothing or to events that I know will not likely cause me to dirty the bag. I'm super careful with it. I never place it on a dirty surface and put my makeup in a little makeup bag to go inside the purse. I sometimes even bring the dust bag in case I have to leave the bag in the car and don't want it exposed.

I know it sounds like a lot of effort but in actuality it doesn't take much time to protect the bag, and the result is it still looks brand new. I get compliments every time I use it because it stands out. I think it comes down to whether you're willing to baby the bag to avoid stains. If not, it will likely get dirty.

I have a Caviar GST. I do get color transfer from my denim. I love the color of the bag but hate I have to be so careful with it. So, I am thinking about selling it before the transfer problem gets really bad.

I sold my White caviar GST last year when it was still in great condition. I'm glad I didn't get any color transfer on it. It was a great bag, but wrong color. I bought Black one after I sold my White.

I have a very very pale cream/blush pink top handle bag, too old to have a name. Just brought it out for the summer and saw your thread so replied although it's not the same. Much as I adore her I have to be really careful when and where she gets out.

If this will be one of several keep it and know you will have to be careful. Nothing says Summer elegance quite like white!

I use a talc stick to remove marks and brush it off with a stiff old blush brush. They live in the bag for emergencies not sure what to use on caviar, maybe a putty rubber could work on a shiny surface for quick touch ups? I know people some ladies love wipes but haven't tried them yet.

I have a jumbo caviar and I do not regret it at all as I think it is probably my most striking summer bag (white birkin aside) BUT I do have to make a conscious effort to only wear it with white t-shirts and jeans. Or with very, very light blue denim that I know has been washed so many times there is no color left to transfer!

It would be a terrible color to have if it was your one and only Chanel because you wouldn't get the best usage from it. It IS too delicate for everyday use. But as part of a Chanel collection it is amazing and I really enjoy having it!

I'm more concerned with the leather turning yellow with use. I take care of light colored bags quite well, but the yellowing issue is something beyond my control and I don't like that :(

I don't have a white Chanel bag yet, but I would like to have one or two - I love white... But the white-turning-yellow-issue concerns me, too... That's why I'm still hesitating buying a white Chanel... You can avoid colour transfer, I would use the bag only when I wear light coloured clothes, won't put it on dirty ground, etc...
But I think the turning yellow is inevitable... or have th Chanel experts knowledge what to do when the leather turns yellow, for example send it to Chanel Spa?

Ohh I see. Well I have a few white bags so maybe I can help!!

My white Chanel classic caviar.. going on 3 years and it's bright bright white! I don't clean it or store it particularly in a special way and it hasn't changed a bit.
My mother has a GST in white which is a few years old. It does a LOT of travel work and has kept bright and not yellowed with age. (Slight color transfer being the only issue but she isn't particularly careful.)

I also have a white birkin which is now going on about 6 or 7 years.. never been to spa and even though it has dulled a bit it is still a clean white. No yellow!
The one brand I have noticed yellows SERIOUSLY is some LV things from a few years ago!! They seem to have fixed the problem last few years but if you ever see a light patent from lets say 10 years ago :wtf: not pretty at all!!

So personally i would not be too concerned about the yellowing issue!! With Chanel the only yellowed white bags I have seen are the 'vintage' 20+ year old ones in second hand shops or on ebay and are most likely that way due to serious abuse! ((TBH- most of which I assume are fakes trying to pass as vintage.))

Oh this is good to know! Thank you!

I think white or beige are nice. You should keep it. Just don't wear it with black color or dark color clothes with it. Denim which is washed many times should be ok. I have a beige jumbo flap but so far don't have much problem with color transfer

I have a white vintage Chanel that is still white (not yellow) and it's my most treasured bag in my very small Chanel collection. I don't regret purchasing it one bit and in retrospect, I'd pay twice as much for it as I did when I bought it. Yes, I love it that much!

Stunning Kelly Chanel! Easy to see why it's your most treasured item. Get a warm glow just looking at your pic!
