You might also want to try a regular fabric store. Or the fabric department in a big department store. That's where I find all my flowers and sparkly belt loops or just fun things to sew on pants and shirts and they very often have fake fur balls as well, especially at this time of the year.
He's the best! I'm sure he'd also scare away potential evildoers...

Maybe buy some grosgrain ribbon to match/coordinate and tie to the chain or handle. I have a black leather hair-slide (vintage couture) there are lots of featured bows in Chanel.
I sometimes tie my silk 90 scarf to the chain of my bag, usually because Im looking for somewhere to tie my scarf rather than decorate, but it looks cool (IMO). I have Chanel scarves, but you could do it with any silk scarves
