I have both and like both. I prefer a 35 for an everyday bag and and the 30 for more elegant times. I am almost 5'8" and the 30 is just to small for an everyday bag for me, yet the 35 is just to big for evenings.

I prefer size 30 because it's the perfect size for me. 35 is a tad too big for my frame. The bigger the Birkin, the heavier it is. I don't like carrying a heavy bag all day and I think Birkin bags are heavy.

I don't carry size 35 unless I go travelling.

Hermes said that they are "baffled" why Americans prefer the 35. In Europe and Asia, they prefer the 30. But I personally prefer the 35, for everyday. I think it's proportions are perfect for the design, and it makes a more of a statement at that size (not because it's bigger, it just has that certain je ne sais quoi). Well, at least for me.

I love wearing my 30cm when I want a more casual look, usually during weekends when I go shopping or in the evenings when I go out for a casual dinner.

Couldn't have put it better myself as I feel the same way. I think perhaps that also the 30cm lends itself to fancies ie Croc/Lizard etc and fun ie combinations etc. Either way I'm very happy with both.:yahoo:

I totaly agreed. I love the 35 too even though I am one of those petite Asians.

It's weird that they said that in Europe they prefer the 30 - because in London and Paris I seem to only see ladies carrying the 35s! Personally, I'm a fan of both!

I currently have 2 35cm and use them ALL the time as day bags...they literally go everywhere with me. I am excited to get a 30cm particularly b/c I always wish I could take my birkins with me to a nice dinner...our just a simple outing at night. My 35cm just seem too big..I am 5'4"
I have to admit they do get a little heavy sometimes. Waiting for my shoulder birkin to arrive to see if this will help change things up a bit for day...

I am 5'2" and around 95 lbs pre-pregnancy. I've decided that I only like the 35 birkin. I always thought that if I were to buy an exotic birkin that I would go for a 30. But I was wrong. As many of you know, I recently got a 35 croc. I was lucky enough to have tried both the 30 croc and 35 croc before I made my decision.
