Do you prefer monogrammed or plain bags??

It depends on the style.

But I think my taste has also changed. It's funny because now when I look into my bags, I seem to have less and less monogrammed ones. I used to have loads ... now it's mostly all leather bags.

I personally don't like anything monogrammed. I think it's too flashy for my taste. But that being said, I don't wear any patterned clothes either. My style is definitely classic, solid colors and I tend to invest in pieces that I will have for a long time. To me, it's easier to get tired of a pattern than a solid - and solids go with a lot more than a pattern.

But I agree with the other posts - it's definitely personal preference....

I think it depends on the bag. I've seen lovely bags with both, but sometimes the same bag looks better in either the monogram or the leather.
Personally, I tend to go for leather bags- and for some reason, monogrammed wallets! :-)

I like both, it depends on my mood. But these days, I like plainer bags..but maybe it's because I got no job at the moment and don't want crap from ppl like, "oh, u got another new bag...".

I agree with Irissy. LV has the best mono, and it's the only one I really like at the moment. I used to carry Coach bags, and I think that part of the reason I don't like them now is because the cloth/canvas isn't coated. I generally prefer a bag that isn't cloth.

I'm indifferent. If I like the style of the bag I like it regardless of the logos or not. My Guccissima bag is so well made and the leather is so soft and on the dark background of the chocolate and black bags I have you can barely see the imprint...it doesnt scream at you from across the room. The two most ostentatious logos I have are the Chanel Cambon flap tote and the Gucci Boston bag with the humongous GG symbol.

I usually stay away from monogrammed handbags. I think this is because I prefer designs that a lot of people do not have. I don't think people would even recognize my Balenciaga bags. One is a flat tote. It does have the motorcycle-looking design in front but it's such a different shape from the city bag. The other is a plain white hobo. Both from 2002. Right now I really love my Lanvin or Matthew Williamson purses, both labels I have never seen anyone carry. I do, however, have a monogrammed Dior pink rain bowler that I carry around sometimes. It's super girly which I can be. That's the only monogrammed handbag I have. The rest I gave away to my younger sisters (still in college). Logos are popular in college.
