This just my observation, obviously.. but l live in an area that's considered upper middle class or wealthy-ish, and I rarely see women carrying LVs on the daily anymore. If I do, it's an old beat-up Neverfull but that's about it.

It seems like everyone is wearing the Lululemon crossbody belt bags or some other brand of belt bag. I myself have also stopped carrying one as my every day bag and switched over to the Lululemon belt bag several months ago. It's quick and convenient. I have two small LV purses now (the Eva and the Loop) which I only pull out now for date nights or going out with friends.

It's weird.. generally I feel embarrassed to carry anything lower than LV (just being real here) - like I would never carry a Nine West purse, but I am totally fine wearing a $39 Lululemon belt bag because they are in style and everyone else here is wearing them.

Has anyone else noticed this in their areas?

I live in a wealthy-ish area also and I don’t see a lot of LV , but you’re right, I see a lot of people carrying the lulu lemon belt bag. I bought one two years ago before our trip to Disneyland and wore it there. It was so convenient and such a great lititle bag for A theme park but I have no desire to wear it around town. I think peop,e in general are more guarded about displaying wealth for safety reasons. When I do see LV it’s usually a tote, but these days I’m seeing a lot of goyard st. Louis totes around also.

For some reason I see more LV on the rare occasion when I go to the mall.

I live in Midwest America but also in a college town: Ann Arbor, MI. I see about a dozen of the lulu belt bags daily and on anyone from younger college girls (and guys), guys muy age are using them as a safe way to carry a purse, and it’s also being carried by everyone’s mom and grandma. When I was in college (early 2000s), I saw a ton of designer bags (Louis, Gucci, and Prada were very big around UofM) but now I really don’t see any. The younger generations around me don’t seem to care for the bags like my generation did.

I saw a LOT of people rocking the lululemon belt bags in Canada! I wondered if it was a Canadian thing with lulu being Canadian. But belt bags/messenger crossbodies are more popular now in other parts of the world, too. I did see some LV, was touristing so don't know what's normal there lol but the LV was definitely mostly only in certain parts of town like the luxe shopping areas.

Yes! I've noticed the same thing.. if i do see an LV, or any other designer purse, it's on a woman who is 35-40+. (I am 43 so I fit the demographic I'm seeing ) I am wondering if designer purses are fading out for the younger generation.

That's interesting! I had totally forgotten that Lululemon was a Canadian brand. But I see the Lulu belt bags everywhere here in CA (California CA  )

I see the same amount of people carrying LV, but if everyone carried a LV bag, I would not carry one or want one at all. That's why I buy them- I see only about 10 percent of folks with them. With the most popular being that Neverfull. That's why I never carry the Neverfull- everyone has that bag.
