Do you match your bag with your shoes?

I'll probably get shot for saying this here (and definitely lynched if I say it on the LV board), but I just don't like ANY logo items. If someone gave me a LV bag, I'd swap it for something else! When they opened an LV store in Charlotte, I went in to look around and got dizzy with all the LV logos surrounding me!!!

As much as I love Prada, I equally dislike their bags with the HUGE Prada embossed into the leather. Criminal. Positively criminal.

OK, youse guys can lynch me now.:noggin:

Back to the question at hand: I'm from the "matchy-matchy" generation too. I don't match bag/shoes at all any more unless it's accidental! It is a very dated look, unless it's black shoes and a black evening bag for a night out.

I personally would not wear them together; I hardly ever match my shoes and handbag. I think it's more subtle and sexy if you were wearing the shoes, and a different, plain handbag but pulled out a matching monogram wallet or something like that.

I love to match bags and shoes. I generally do not have logo shoes though. I find shoes (maybe not from the same designer) that are in a similar color or have some similar detail. With a white LV Suhali that has gold stud details on it...I wear white shoes with some gold stud detailing. With a green/red/green webbed Gucci bag I wear shoes with the same web detail. With a Gucci bag with gold horsebit detail I would wear slides I have that have that same gold horsebit detail. I am moreso obsessed with having hardware on my shoes...not into logo shoes as much as hardware. Chanel is tough because they rarely make matching shoes...they did with the Cambon line but I would never wear Cambon shoes with the CCs with a Cambon bag. I agree that logo bag and logo shoes are a bit much. But you can match color or hardware details I think and have it look classy.

I think it would be the first thing people noticed about your outfit, for sure. If you are cool with that, then go ahead. I do think matching the shoes and bag tends to look a bit dated when both are so distinctive. I prefer to coordinate.

If you love what you're wearing, you'll be comfortable, and you will be wearing the clothes, not vice versa-personally(see 60s comments!) I would never, ever match anything, but I love to see what other people do-ps those shoes are cute!

I grew up thinking that making it was when you could afford to match your purse with your shoes...I still find myself buying shoes based on bags that I have to match. I now know that you don't have to match both, if there's anything Stacy and ******* (What Not to Wear) taught me it's that! But I still like having matching shoes to my bag when possible!! And if not shoes, I like to match my belt if I can..
How about you?

I posted these last week on the Balenciaga thread ...

For more great matches see the "Boots 'n' Bags thread there. (Especially from Decophile!!!!!!):amazed:

GORGEOUS!!! See, I LOVE that!! I don't believe in overkill, I do not match my bags with the same brand, same pattern shoe. But I love exactly what you showed, subtly matching an amazing boot with a gorgeous bag!!
