Do you match your bag with your shoes?

I'm happy to mismatch handbags and shoes. I'm just not sure if you are wearing nude shoes can you carry a white bag? Or if you are wearing white shoes can you carry a nude bag?
I am just starting my designer bag collection and can only afford to buy either a white or nude bag for Summer but not both. My only other designer bag is a Kate Spade black bag.
I wear my white and nude shoes with coloured clothes mostly through Summer.
So what do you think - can you wear white with nude or not?

All of my shoes are black and I usually carry a black bag so most of the time I match. I have some really nice brown leather bags that are getting dusty in my closet because I feel awkward wearing them with black shoes. Most of my clothes are black, too, so I don't know why I bought brown bags.

The way I look at it is; brown and black are both neutrals. So they can go together without drawing too much attention to one or the other, or clashing. I would wear a neutral bag and neutral shoes, or one neutral and one colour, but not a bright bag *and* bright shoes, unless they were complimentary colours. Does that make any sense? I guess I have a weird way of looking at it but it works for me! I also hate mixing metals- it just throws everything off to me.

In other works, coordinate- or 'go', don't match.

I too was scared of brown bag/black shoes combo until I came upon advice to add a brown and black animal print (like a scarf, a belt, a blouse) to your outfit to pull the look together. That has been very fun, and seems to work very well together.

I don't mind mixing the colors of my bag and shoes. I think it's the style of both that really matter. Black can be mixed with brown or navy and look very chic.

I also don't mind mixing my jewelry tones. I often mix and match gold and silver bangles. The mix of the two create a different sparkle that I enjoy.

I will say that I do prefer my wallet to match my bag :) its the small (silly) things for me

The animal print scarf is a great idea:smile1:.

I was wondering with the white or nude shoes if I could buy a straw bag to go with them. I wear these shoes mostly in the day or with casual Summer outfits. What do you think is a nice designer straw bag a good idea? Or what would you do if you wore white sandals and nude shoes a lot but could only afford 1 handbag purchase?

I try to coordinate a belt or a watchband (white is very in lately for the summer) with white shoes, and then the bag can be whatever - nude, straw, color, etc.

In my opinion, it's not worth buying a designer bag in straw. But maybe a bamboo handle? Guccis are expensive, but I saw Milly that looked similar.

I would get a bag in a rich medium tan, a color that contrasts nicely with both white and nude. You can try camel which is the same color as straw, but that might conflict with the nude shoes.

Or you could do a pop of color, just pick carefully. Like a spring green you love, or aqua, or orange or pink. I would do the pops of color in a less expensive smaller bag, though.

How important is it for my purse and shoes to match these days? If I have some black pumps, would I have to carry a black patent purse or would just a black purse or some other color suffice?
