Do you match your bag with your shoes?

I was at the grocery store yesterday, and there was a young woman who had a grass green bag and she matched it with grass green flip flops. The rest of her outfit was typical teenager, but the bag/shoes was pretty eye-catching.

I don't really follow trends, so I missed the memo that said it was uncool to match bags to shoes. As a result, I happily and occasionally match my purse of the day to the shoes I'm wearing--or vice versa!
