I would never lie about my LV and say its a fake but when put into an awkward situation I just tell them its from my DBF. My cousins and such don't think someone my age should be carry such expensive bags so I just tell them they are gifts.

Maybe its because of where I live, but when strangers I don't feel comfortable around ask me.... I have no reservation telling them its fake because I don't want to get robbed. But if its a woman who seems genuinely interested and is considering purchasing one I will tell her the truth.

We got in the elevator and he started talking about my Mom's bag like "that's a really nice bag there. Must have cost a lot of money." To which she replied "It's fake and cost about 20 bucks." He left us alone after that.

I've never been in a situation like that myself but, if I was, I would probably lie as well. Safety first! :yes:

I carry my bag, and I carry concealed. I'm not talking about my bag.

i havent lied and said my bags are fake but ill admit i lie about the price, my fam friends and co workers would think im psycho if i tell them how much i drop on bags and everytime i get a new bag they all ask how much, the only one who knows is my hubby and he does think im crazy lol

I wouldnt lie and says its fake just to avoid hurting someone whos financially struggling's feelings...because If people are going to take offense to your answer they shouldnt have asked

I have lied to my dad about bags to avoid the lecture....He calls LV and any other designer brand ferragamo lol

Excellent answers, ladies! Thank you for the input-- and remember to rush my apartment to get the loot if anything ever happens to me...before my mom gives all my "replicas" to Goodwill! Lol

A friend at church assumed my Watercolor Speedy was a fake. Of course, it isn't. She said, "I know you! You'd never fork over $300-$400 for a purse! How did you find it??!!" I replied that I find great deals on ebay, but that it's tricky to find authentic bags there. Her jaw dropped to the floor at the thought that it was authentic. I felt very uncomfortable and I hoped that she wouldn't google how much they really are!
