Do you let other people try on your rings?

I've been told it's bad luck to let someone else try on your e-ring. Has anyone else heard this? I'm not superstitious, but I hate people trying on my things, so I guess I would say no, no jewelry sharing for me.

I've heard this too.. I think it's part of the Thai culture.. as my friend had said the same thing.. then explained that as part of there Thai culture, its bad luck to have people try on there rings.

I'd honestly feel uncomfortable if someone asked to try on my ring, I'm very anal about my ring.. and it bugs when people touch the actual ring instead of just holding it closer to admire it. I know.. I'm weird..

I really don't care. I got so tired of holding my hand out at length for people to look at my ring, so I just started taking it off and handing it to people. I mean, people I know! Not strangers! And a couple have tried it on, that doesn't bother me.

At first it did sort of irk me to find out that someone tried on my ring once it was complete before I was given it. Due to circumstances and our travel schedule the jeweler shipped our ring to the first stop on our trip to some friends so my FI could pick it up when we got there and I found out his friend's wife was trying it on.

Well, that would irk me, too. Why did they even open it?? How rude!

I don't mind letting my friends or family try it on. I do hate the fingerprint on the top though. I'm constantly cleaning the face of my stone.

nah, I am not funny about anything like that. I would never take a piece of jewelry off for someone I don't know, but anyone of my friends? Sure, why not!?

I shouldn't after my frined asked to see my new upgrade, I handed it to her and it somehow literally flew out of her hand and landed about 4 feet away.
Thankfully it was on carpet, I think she almost had a heart attack, she was far more worried about it thean me! LOL!

I'm so casual, most things don't bother me like that.

OMG, me too! WTH!? Why do people think they need to poke the face of our stones for!?

OMG!!! Too funny!!! I bet she was having heart tremors for the rest of the day!!!!

But,I'm not adverse to peeps I know trying my ring on,they usually ask politely so I don't mind at all.If a person I don't know that well looks at it,and then asks,I just say I had it sized small for extra security and its such a pain to get off and put back on again that it makes my knuckle sore.
If anyone tries to touch the top I laugh and say 'you look with your eyes, not your fingers, unless you have eyeballs in your fingers!!'It always makes folk laugh and I get away with the smearing issue!!

If I know them well enough to KNOW they wash their hands in the ladies room then yes - everyone else - ewe no - please don't touch my hands or jewelry either.

If I know them WELL I don't mind it. But Im not too trusting about others handling my rings because I don't want them being careless or rough. But otherwise no way.

I would let close friends/relatives try it on but NO WAY would I let some random person I did not know try it on because if they took off with it, there would be a foot pursuit that ended with a you-know-what beating!
