Discussing this trend and my stance with DH with this charm on my desk:

He suggested Thomas’ bag needs one and I do think that’d be ideal.
After some searching, there seems to be phone charm type accessories with small Labubu’s on them, but I’m only seeing them on re-sale type websites. Can the more versed Labubu fans tell me if something like this was/is actually produced and sold at Popmart?

In the past, Popmart has/had released blind boxes with what one can classify as phone charms that feature Labubu and other popular Popmart IP characters. I say that in a general sense since I’m not sure to which phone accessory you refer!

You mean this one. Sorry, I threw away the box. It came in 6 blind boxes, it's very well made. I got this pink one, it means LOVE.

I don’t know I find it all a bit bleak the way women get all this infantilising marketing and I say that as someone who loves dolls and bears.I don’t personally need a constantly updating line flying all over the world & being consumed by the sackful - it’s not like there’s a shortage of cute toys and brands anywhere.

Also I get fatigue with all this plugging all the pop stars and influencers. I mean do they even like this stuff or is it just a choreographed marketing campaign that’s hitting the landfill in just a few months?

I think toy marketing in general has changed for the worst tbh. Trolls and Furbies were marketed at kids whereas now stuff like Minecraft and popmart and (god help us) my little pony have all these often suspect adults hovering around the space. It’s often men you’d rather children didn’t know about like Mr beast & his gang and pewdiepie and furries and the like who seem to get pushed to the forefront of the marketing.

Also even with the women, groups like black pink are normalising plastic surgery for their young female audience.

Yeah Idk it makes sense from a marketing perspective as there’s fewer children and tons of infantilised adults but I do feel conflicted about the messages kids are also receiving when they take a natural interest in new toys.

As long as you don't hang them on your bag and admire them from afar. If your child enjoys it, that's great.
On another note, I think you have to care about what you wear. While you shouldn't obsess, it does say certain things about you. Hopefully, it says what you want it to convey. Imagine a Harajuku "girl" in her 40s? While it's cute and playful for teens and early 20s, it's definitely not a look for a more mature woman. Fashion is like that.
Keep your judgemental comments/trolling to yourself. Always so negative, trying to take the joy away from people.
First the LV Murakami thread where you rained on everyone's parade multiple times a while ago and now here.
Even react with sad emotion to someone's post who enjoys her Labubu on her bag, SMH.
If you have nothing nice to say, perhaps you should go to a thread that you enjoy and where you actually can deliver a positive contribution instead of raining on people's parade all the time.
It's one thing to have an opinion, but judging people because of a pluche toy and even telling them what to do, no...just no.

And to everyone who posts their Labubu's on their bags or in action, keep going, I love to see them 😍. And never let anyone rain on your parade. To each his/her own.
From one proud adult Labubu owner to another ❤.
I should post mine soon, they have multiplied since my last post 🤣🙈.

I disagree. The good and fun thing about fashion is that everything is allowed and everyone can express them through fashion as they like.

I DO agree this is LV's response to the recent popularity of Labubus. This toy made some random guy a billionaire!

They are threatened by this monster and wants to cash in. But Vivienne has existed forever, they are not cute and the price of these new bag charms are outrageous. It's not the price that entices, it's the novelty and ppl lining up and friendly prices (coupled with the lack of supply). Labubu did it with Lisa doing a few IG posts with her Labubu toys and it became rage. But Viviennes, even if I can comfortably buy them, I will not.

Most brands have had their charm craze H had their Rodeos and Burberry their TB bears. I think it's more a question of the new versions of LV's variations and styling. In London I am seeing quite a few people hanging both.
Totally. Luxury fashion houses had such things even far before Labubus. Do you all remember those fur balls from Fendi? Never understood them. Also like some NOT a fan of Vivienne (what is it anyway?). But if people enjoy them, why not.
It is good people have different tastes (me and my female friends were always like, uh not my type, but that is good, we like different types otherwise we would have catfights. 😅). Some of those toys really are more ‚ugly‘ than Labubus. At least Labubus are priced more reasonably.

I'm shocked at some of the very snobbish and judgemental responses here. Do I Labubu? Yes, occasionally. I even Skullpanda. 😱
Is it silly? Yes. A fad? Most likely. Do I care? No, not at all. It doesn't hurt anybody and the bags don't care what's hanging off them.
I'm 40 and enjoy and need some silliness in my day to day life. Fashion isn't as serious as some want it to be. There are no rules. Enjoy what makes you happy and puts a smile on your face.
Just yes.

Has anyone here gotten something from the wacky mart series?

Just for fun, some Labubu in action  .

While Labubu "Luck" tried to claim my bag, Labubu "Wings of Fortune" gave her the side eye and said that wasn't going to happen.
Meanwhile Labubu "Zizi" couldn't care less and took a nap under the cherries 🍒.
After a few hours, when everyone was gone, "Luck" returned to claim and inspect the LV bag again. She took the opportunity to also claim a Chanel make-up palette she likes 😏. What can I say, these Labubu's know their taste :graucho:.

Thank you dear N 😘. You know that it just started with one, the cute Zizi. But somehow they seem to multiply like Gremlins and now there are 3 of them already 😜. I would love to have a bigger one too, especially "Flip with me". You can change the eyes of that one, very cool. And it comes with glasses and an outfit, looking quite smart actually.
But very hard to get at this point, maybe I'll have more luck when the hype slows down a bit. Mine are here to stay even when the hype slows down. I wish they had a Popland in Europe, the only one is in Beijing right now. There you can meet and greet with a life-sized Labubu, I think that would be fun. I've never been to Beijing but maybe this would be a good excuse to go there someday to explore the city, do some Labubu shopping (it seems they are a little bit easier to get there) and to meet a life-sized Labubu 😁.
