I ordered one but was soo excited when it arrived, but when I opened it I was soo disappointed - the quality is very bad!! Even the 10 euros charms I get from our toy shops are better than labubu!! I usually don’t follow trends but I thought I try once in my life and go with social media! It turns out it’s not for me!! Now I gave it to my son to play it! Just wasting of money to be honest!! It’s just my two cents!!

In the Takashi Murakami thread, someone mentioned they were unable to buy the LV Murakami charm, and I suggested checking out the Labubu thread lol.

I am currently traveling in Asia and saw 4 Labubus (the Coca Cola ones) in a Popmart vending machine in Kaohsiung a few days ago. None of the people frequenting the mall seemed interested. Now in Taipei, I passed a Popmart store crammed with customers. TBH I was a bit shocked to see how much people spend on what I consider plastic rubbish (large shopping bags full of stuff). Different folks, different strokes, I know.
I remain happily Labubu-free.

My dad took me to a local toy store when I was very young to get a troll. Not the new versions from the fairly recent movies. He didn't know what it was so when the salesperson showed him he looked at me and said, "Is that what you want? It's so ugly." I told him that was absolutely what I wanted, and left the store jubilantly with my little troll in a paper lunch sized bag.
Oh gosh. That's a scene from my childhood too. I was also into trolls. Big time. The first time I bought one--I was with one of my parents--and they also said "Are you sure you want that? It's so ugly."

I was out shopping today and actually came across a store selling the lababu. There it was staring at me from the window with its toothy grin...so I had to go see this thing first hand. It is exactly what it looks like a ratty children's toy. It's being sold for about $100 USD. Crazy! LOL I can't believe this is a trend.

For me, part of why I’m having fun with it is because I have an 11 year old daughter who likes them. We both know they’re ridiculous and a fad, but we enjoy watching silly Labubu Instagram videos together. I think the contrast of a luxury bag with an obnoxious looking toy also sends a message not to take any material possessions too seriously.

It's fine for an 11-year-old but not for a grown woman. Would you hang a barbie from your bag? I'm glad to see that many women are drawing the line at this trend.

I might hang a Barbie off a bag 🤷🏻‍♀️ For me, fashion is not a part of life to overly worry about. I doubt I’ll be adding a labubu to my bags in a few months, but for now they bring me joy and I like to see that some others are finding joy with them as well.

As long as you don't hang them on your bag and admire them from afar. If your child enjoys it, that's great.
On another note, I think you have to care about what you wear. While you shouldn't obsess, it does say certain things about you. Hopefully, it says what you want it to convey. Imagine a Harajuku "girl" in her 40s? While it's cute and playful for teens and early 20s, it's definitely not a look for a more mature woman. Fashion is like that.

Super happy to score Zizi and HeHe from my store online drop! My first time ordering blind boxes — didn’t know what to expect or if I would get 2 of the same one. Wasn’t able to score the BIE drop tonight though but saw them in store.

Wow M! They are too cute! I’m super new to Labubu but my sister has recently become obsessed. She just ordered a bunch from somewhere but she’s sure what she received are fake. Is it possible to find them anywhere besides Pop Mart directly?

Plenty of adults in this thread enjoying the charms far past their 20s. :shrugs:
