This Labubu doesn’t need to travel far to see a familiar face…

…for there was another chance meeting with another Labubu and her guardian (lovely person, and good luck with your career decision next week!) at the local bus stop.

I’m beginning to think that in my corner of the neighborhood, Labubu is celebrated among the morning people taking the crosstown bus to work (to make more money to drop at PopMart). 😊

Purseblog article.

The comments on that article are a tad ott- people saying they "ruin" the expensive bags and comparing it to putting a bumper sticker on a fancy car?? Like- you can detach them right? It's not permanent or anything.
Personally I'm not into it. I just can't deal with big things hanging off my bags. If I do charms at all they're usually small and no more than 1 or 2 if I'm feeling really wild. Also I've never been able to get into any of these crazes. Never got into the troll dolls, or the monchichi or the beanie babies... I just could never get excited about it. I do love watching other people enjoy them, though. They do grow on you. I might hook one on a bag if someone gifted me one, at least for a day or two until it drove me crazy. But there's no way I'm losing sleep or getting stressed out over trying to obtain one- though I guess that's part of the fun of it? :happydance:

Not to go off topic, but this is quite a gorgeous bag collection you have here!! And the Labubus do look pretty cute. I like this so much better than when people just load the bag down with trinkets.
Thank you so much! I definitely agree, less is more when it comes to bag charms, plus charms can add a lot of weight to a bag, and I can't do that anymore with my shoulders.

In the U.S., Popmart just increased the prices of all regular Labubus by $5 overnight — now they are the same price as the new Big Into Energy ones. The special edition ones like Coca Cola went up by $7. It could be due to new tariffs or greed or both — annoying regardless. The prices of other characters went up too like the older SKULLPANDA, not the new L'impressionnisme ones. Resellers will surely increase their prices too.

The other day, I was in the area of a Popmart Vending Machine so I checked it out — of course, no Labubus or skullpandas.

See!? It's beanie babies all over again... Before too long people will be spending hundreds of dollars on these plushies and have entire rooms full of them. :panic: This is one of those things that humans do that makes me wonder if I am actually truly a human... :hrmm:

I was into beanie babies back when and I was not a kid, far from it. But I behaved myself and bought when I could and dealt with disappoubtment when I had no luck. With the way the world is going I will encourage anyone to have fun with whatever makes them happy. What sobers me up is when I watch the unboxings and realize these gals were not even born when beanies were the rage and their mothers were kids themselves. Time has got away from me. Will I buy a Labubu? Control has never been my strong suit.

Look- as long as people are enjoying themselves, I'm all for it. I just worry when it crosses into that crazy place of people spending way more for a plushy than is reasonable or fist fighting people over the last one in the store. The beanie baby thing just went way too far! I was still a kid, and I remember thinking, "These people are the adults in charge??? What is even happening???"
