Do you ever feel like your CL walk a line between chic and slutty?

I do find myself feeling a little slutty sometimes. Between my long blonde hair, my ginormous ta-tas, and my 4ft legs I never look normal in an outfit! Skirts are usually just a little too short, blouses a little too tight, and when I add my 4.5" VPs to it, I am pretty much walking that line. Its like Pam Anderson in a suit. The outfit is conservative, but you just cant hide what God gave you!

So I agree with Keya, I have to downplay my shoes alot, becuase sometimes they are overkill.

This is also my neurotic paranoia talking, so I could be seeing myself alot differently than other people do. But I'll be damned if I am going to stop wearing them!

MKWMDA,

You just come on and head up here to Frisco / Dallas. There are an aweful lot of tall, blondes here and you would fit right in with them! (Meant as a compliment!) I am just a shorty, brunette and wish I could have your height. All I can do is compensate by wearing my high heeled shoes!

bellapsyd, I can't believe you got that comment about your declics! A nude shoe without anything that could even possible be considered party-like? I don't think having a really high heel makes something a party shoe.

I don't work full time yet (just finished taking the bar exam and don't have to start work until the end of September), but I've had internships before and wore CLs or other really high heels and never felt sluttly in them. In fact, in the office I'll be going to, most of the men are the same height as me even if I were wearing flats - I'm only 5'6", but there's a lot of short guys there, with some exceptions! So once I put on any kind of heel, I'm already very tall - I figure I might as well go with a shoe I love and no one seems to care.

The height of CLs give it a dangerously sexy edge, but that's just it. It's a hint of sexiness that could go either way depending on your outfit and how you carry yourself.

she turns to her husband who usually buys her all her designer stuff because he cares and she doesn't and asks him to buy them for her. she's super excited and telling him "these! i want these!" and he says to her "i'm not buying you those" and she asks why and he says "because i don't need my wife to look like she works at scores" (a strip club in nyc).
What a douche bag.

:D Who give a flying **** what he thinks..

you know i almost posted this a few times. this past weekend i went to a party for a client. my mom's best friend and her husband were there (that's how i was referred to the client in the first place). anyway i wore a very simple black faux wrap dress that was knee length and my new black armadillos. i felt sleek and dressed up but also somewhat casual. the host ended up telling me i was very dressed up. whatever. anyway my mom's best friend is about 15 years older than me, maybe a little less. i went to get something to eat and when i come back she starts raving about my shoes. how 40s glamour they are and how she loves the red soles. she turns to her husband who usually buys her all her designer stuff because he cares and she doesn't and asks him to buy them for her. she's super excited and telling him "these! i want these!" and he says to her "i'm not buying you those" and she asks why and he says "because i don't need my wife to look like she works at scores" (a strip club in nyc). i was FLOORED. so offended. she made a joke about it and i know he's a jerk to begin with but who says that? UGH. well, you know what- i'll take it. if it means i look sexy and like i could possibly have a body that's strip worthy- sign me up! lol.

What a jerk! :cursing: That was incredibly rude of him.

My first official pair (after having two in my hands yanked away so far) will arrive tomorrow so I can't say if I'd feel slutty, but I wear heels almost daily and I never feel that way, so IMO CLs definitely aren't.

I love my CLs and I've gotten both positive and negative comments. I've heard "where's your stripper pole?" and "those are s&m shoes". This was said about my Tortoise VPs! Which I think are pretty classy. I suppose anytime you wear heels greater than 4 inches, you're going to get some negative comments.

I sometimes do feel that my leopard patent NP's, with its somewhat 'loud' print and gold heels, can be seen as slutty or trashy. IMO if they weren't Louboutin I would really consider them tacky. The elegant silhouette of the NP saves it somewhat :p

Aside from that - I find that the majority of CLs are classy and sexy, never slutty!

Haha thanks Caroline! Can I borrow your declics while I am there? :p

y'know martha, it is funny. i was being helped at selfridges by this knockout blonde (she reminded me of you, leggy and fabulous!) and she was saying how jealous she was that i was so short and curvy because i could wear shoes she couldn't get away wiht because of her height.

we're all just jealous creatures! some of us are good jealous (like our family here...we're jealous of each others collectinos...but in a very loving way!) and the negative jealousy we have all encountered in our CLs

If you come up here and go shopping with me then sure! You just have to be able to get those blonde tresses and long legs into a 38.5! :) I'm open!

You can always still come up here and shop. I think you have a better selection down there, except for maybe Stanley Korshak. I havent been there to see their collection yet! Will be soon tho...

Next time someone ask where your stripper pole is tell them it is up their B_TT!!!!!

I agree, or just ask them where there's is. Better yet, take it as a compliment as that is some of the most muscle intense activity you will ever have, so in a back handed way, they are actually complimenting you on how 'in shape' you must be! :)

I don't care that they come off as slutty shoes to some people. My mom tells me I wear F-me shoes. Whatever. I guess that's just that 10% of me that is a ho coming out!
