Summertime, you nailed it. It's shallow and wrong and far from ideal, but the SAs do judge people on how they look...and thus how much commission they can earn. I learned a long time ago that if I don't want to be treated as though I'm about to shoplift, I need to dress up a little when I go to upscale shops - I'm average sized, average haired, and no-ringed.summertime said:...if you're a size 2 with amazing hair you can pretty much get away wearing anything and still get great service. That said, I don't wear an evening gown or a suit <shudder> or anything. Nice jeans or a skirt, cute shoes, a pretty blouse, light makeup, and a sweet handbag usually work for me. It is completely worth making a little extra effort.
