Do you carry your bag on the left or right side?

Which side do you prefer most?

  • Left

  • Right

  • Either side don't matter. I'm comfortable and switch between both.

  • It depends on where I wear it, like my arm, shoulder, hand, etc. Combo of both.

Forgive me if this has been done before, but the other day I was bag-watching (kind of like people-watching) and started wondering...does the shoulder one wears one's bag on have anything to do with which hand is their dominate hand? For ex., I am right handed and wear my bags on my left shoulder. I noticed that most of the women I saw with shoulder bags wore theirs on their right shoulder. Do y'all tend to wear your bags more or exclusively on one shoulder than the other? And if so, which are you--right or left-handed?

Right, i'm left handed.

I think there's 2 reasoning on why it's the same side or opposite side of what hand you use to write.

1) Same side cause you use that hand more and you sling or grab the bag with that hand more so onto the same side shoulder it goes.
2) Opposite side cause you use the hand more and you want it free to do stuff and cant' have the bag sliding down.

Right handed and right shoulder, it just feels..... RIGHT.

I understand the Lady Di/handshake thinking, but it would feel wrong carrying it on my weaker arm.....

Right handed.
Right shoulder bag.
Shoot right in hockey.
Swing right in golf.
Swing right in baseball.

W/ handheld bags I can go both ways.

Also - w/ 3 kids I prefer napsack purse... easier in all respects. Just...not terribly chic.

I'm right handed and I carry my bag on my left shoulder. My twin sister is right handed too, and she carries her bag on her right shoulder. My left is naturally stronger, and I feel like I do things more comfortably with my left. Yet I spin a basketball with my right, and my twin sis does it with her left.:push:
