Do you carry your bag on the left or right side?

Which side do you prefer most?

  • Left

  • Right

  • Either side don't matter. I'm comfortable and switch between both.

  • It depends on where I wear it, like my arm, shoulder, hand, etc. Combo of both.

I've noticed that I'm only comfortable wearing my shoulder bags on my right shoulder. I tried forcing myself to carry one of my bags on my left shoulder because a bow was tied to the right side of the bag handle, which would have interfered with my arm, but hated it. So I took the bow off and retied it on the other side of the handle so that I can carry the bag on my right side like I prefer.

When it comes to bags hanging on my arm, I like to wear them on my left arm.

Are you a french purse person?? So am I!

for years I carried a Prada Polaris which came with magnetic clips which simply meant you detached the strap , moved the bag to the left hand side and reattached the straps with the magnetic clips. It worked wonderfully well if I needed a change. It was ideal when I travelled to London England which meant there were no problems getting into and out of my hire car (A British Volkswagen). However once I started carrying mobile phones the electromagnetic energy produced by the transmitter interfered with the magnetic clips and the bag would just fall on the sidewalk. I still have it but it is more or less useless but it is dual purpose.

Until this thread came up, I never thought about it. Today, I realized that I carry the bag on my left arm when I use the shorter straps and on my right shoulder when I wear them as shoulder bags. Funny how you never notice until someone says something!

Huh, I never really thought about it! I'm left-handed when it comes to writing and such, so I carry a purse with my left hand. If it's a shoulder bag, I put it on the right shoulder because it always seems to want to fall off if it's on the left! If I want to wear it on the crook of my elbow, it goes on my right arm. So I guess you could say that I'm ambidextrous when it comes to purses. ;)

Right handed & carry on the right shoulder. Can't seem to hold a shoulder strap on my left side. Drives me crazy if it's a heavy bag; I'll switch to the left but can't keep it there for very long. I'm ok swapping sides with wristlets, though.

My saddles I carry on my right side because the way they are cut, but I alternate.

I remember reading somewhere years ago that is you carry your bag on the left it correlates to being more independent :shrugs:

it's so important to choose the best trend i don't care if i wear in my rigth or left arm
