Do you buy pre-loved more often or in store?

I do buy both in store and preloved. But really prefer buying in store.
Preloved needs a lot of knowledge and research and I made the experience that there still can be uncertainties. Worse for me: smell. Often not disclosed or people just telling you there is none and then there is. Weird or old smell is the worst for me.
Agree to weird and old smell.. I’ve received a bag once with a weird and old smell along with some fragrance smell…When I put that bag into the cupboard the inside of the cupboard started having that awful smell immediately…. Had to remove the bag and air the inside of the cupboard out so it didn’t smell awful

Luckily I haven’t received bags with cigarette smells…I heard the cigarette smelling bags are terrible …

Uh, I had that with one bag, too. It was cleaned before, but still. Luckily it aired after actually many many days and now it is fine, bit initially I always nearly had to gag when coming near that bag.
Since then I am really really careful to buy preloved bags as this really takes the fun out of the bags.
I love the new leather and canvas smell though. 😅 I know some people also distaste that.

I would say the majority of my collection is preloved; I'm one of those who prefers my LV mono bags with a tan. I also prefer a lot of older styles that are no longer available. I'm very careful and selective and so far, have only been really disappointed once (condition not authenticity - YSL).

I'm not going to lie, the price hikes have also influenced me, so if I can save a few hundred dollars, you bet I'll look to the second-hand market.

I buy new from the store. The only exception is if it’s a bag I missed out on when it was originally released many years ago. I’ve had disappointing pre-loved online experiences. When I buy new in store, I am not disappointed.
