I've been reading this tread since it started and been hesitating to contribute, partly because I always thought I was very particular with my bags and now I realize I'm not the extremist I thought I was....
This tread made me think how I actually look at my luxury pieces, also reading "the interview with the Kayser" was most interesting. Even if dear Mrs O might have started the conversation with a sparkle in her eyes and a little smile, it has become a very interesting tread where people openly share their views on the topic.
I have bags in smooth leathers (barenia, swift and hopefully soon box) that I'm more careful with and some chevre and togo bags that are more workhorses or for travel. I do pay attention that I don't get colourtransfer, scratches, close my bag "the right way" without damaging the hw etc but I hate plastic so that comes off asap and in the recent year I haven't liked dressing my bags with twillies ( except when travelling to warm countries and in summer when it's hot and I try to avoid dark handles on my barenia) and charms have never been my cup of tea.
I don't put my bags on the floor if I can avoid it (usually I can) and I only use names if I need to tell my niece which bag I'm carrying. The names describe the colour, pink ostrich is "raspberry" and bleu ocean is " chameleon" to give you an idea.
I choose my bags according to occasion, weather and surroundings. Recently I took my SO bleu aztec to Mexico, which rased some eyebrows here, but mostly people understood the idea [emoji3]

I once told my niece having a nice diamond ring means being responsable, either you have it or you don't. I enjoy my things so much that I love taking care of them without making a fuss. I don't have any children so I might just have the time to take care of my things [emoji3]
