Finally! Somebody else besides me that just collects them. :shame:
I am a collector too, but I don't feel like they have to be kept in unused condition like some collectors do. I buy some of them because I think they will go perfectly with a bag, but most of them I buy because I like them and if they end up looking good on a bag, that is just a bonus.

I'm anal about the condition of the fobs / keyrings. ( I wish I wasn't, but I am and the older I get, the worse I get. :p) I want them to stay in the condition that I bought them in. I do have a few doubles that I can use if I want to.....like the legacy hangtag ones and a suede fringe one with tiny hangtags at the ends of the fringe.... and I do use my legacy tassels.

You've had the best bag / fob match I've ever seen with bag and little flower / daisies fob.

I mostly own vintage bags which mostly really need an extra pop of color to make it a bit more noticeable. It irks me when my fantastic vintage leather gets ignored while somebody's fake coach standing next me gets commented on LOL. I generally always have some kind of fob, some are more ornate than others depending on the need of the bag.

I have "some" fobs (hehehehehe) but I don't use them on my bags all that often. Most of my bags have enough detail already and don't need to overdress. I do have a few bags that love a good accessory, and a few bag/fob combos made in heaven.

Fob AND scarf on the same bag? Nuh uh. With rare exception.

Girls, girls, girls! You are such children! My granddaughters would love your fobs.

Did you know this.....Years ago the owner of Coach stated that the fobs were childish. It seemed that he was being defensive of Coach, but he still said it.

Whoops! :)

Who "owns" Coach? Isn't it a public company? And where did you read this? Not that it matters, but I'm always curious when someone swoops in with such emphatic statements where the info comes from. I like to read and judge for myself.

I'm somewhere between rarely to sometimes with my use of fobs. Some bags do not look good with fobs to me, but rarely can I tell until the exact moment I'm about to leave the house. Sometimes I notice halfway through the day that I don't like a fob with a bag, and take it off as if I can't bear that bag and fob combo for another minute. I will also try a bunch of different charms on a bag before I settle on the one that looks best (some bags just look right with specific fobs to me).

Lately, despite trying many fobs on my bags, I'm just not feeling them as much. It doesn't help that coach has dropped the ball as far as I'm concerned with the recent fob releases (oh, like for the past 4-5 months). I miss the cool leather charms. I still regret missing out on Pegasus!

I don't view charms as childish. It's all in how you carry yourself and what you're wearing total-outfit wise. If you are uncomfortable wearing a fob, you shouldn't be wearing it. Period. Your look should be whatever gives you maximum confidence or happiness... And screw what anyone else thinks ;)

My dear, if it makes you feel any better, I would never, ever appreciate a Foach over one of your gorgeous vintage classics. :smile1: I bet that more people know the difference than what you might think (hope so, anyway). I all but hiss at Foaches I see in the wild. They're just so overdone, and always have weird unraveling threads dangling, and zippers in places zippers don't belong...

And those classic coach bags are simple perfection. Fobbed or unfobbed, they're the equivalent to a vintage ford mustang IMO (aka American classic).

I agree that a scarf and fob can be too much of a good thing. As you said, most bags have their own "look" and don't need the added accessory.
More like Ladies Ladies. Honey I am 45 and far from a child.
+1

I agree that if you don't have the confidence to carry or wear what you want, what's the sense?!?! It really doesn't matter what others think, it's all about you and what makes you happy.I do not see fobs as being childish either. A lot of them are adorable, and I think they do look good on a bag that doesn't have too much going on before hand.

It's nice to see how other (Ladies) feel about adding accessories to their bags or not :)

Sometimes as others have said, I often buy with a particular bag in mind and leave it always attached to that bag. What annoys me about fobs is that mine always flip to show the plain side, if you know what I mean. I also forget I have them sometimes and made a vow only to buy fobs/charms with leash clips
