guilty with my Python bags. weather has to be PERFECT, has to be an event that won't be crowded, preferably a sit down black tie event...and welp, since these events are limited for me, I have a limited number of options to wear them. so I have 2 that I have not yet worn, but plan too...when all of the circumstances are perfect [i.e., NOT WINTER or raining, and indoors, can't have too much exposure to the sun, etc.]

I'm guilty of this too! Only difference is that when I buy a bag, I'm so obsessed with it that I'll use it for a month straight! But after they go into storage I tend to want to "save" them from getting worn out haha. But next year I plan to rotate my "nice bags" for work on Fridays!

guilty

i tend to buy bags on sale tables in high end department stores...ie justifying buying a bag i was in love with when it came out

ie like summer 2003 Coach had a Dark Purple mini sig collection
I think I got the bag like $40 less a few months later
and i killed the bag after having it in a bag for a year

Gotta ask how you "killed" the bag you stored?
I have several stuffed & stored in my closet (pebbled leather, patent, & suede) with silicone pouches added... I check on them occasionally, but live where I don't have occasion to carry them often. I'd hate to ruin them somehow from neglect.
Thanks for sharing your cautionary tale.

Unfortunately, I have [emoji17] I have two bags in my collection that I love but don’t use. One is bc it’s just too big (Chanel Caviar Jumbo) and the other is just too pretty and special to use (Chanel Lambskin Boy). I’ve used both here and there but not nearly as much as I should.

I am so guilty of this. Wow, I'm really not alone!

I wish I felt differently so that I could actually get my money's worth out of the bags.
Like the other member mentioned earlier, the weather has to be perfect (No rain, ice, snow, extreme heat). I love my designer bags, but the maintenance and care I take to keep them like new is "real work." Not just that, I also have to watch the bag constantly to make sure it doesn't sprout legs and walk off.

The only bags that I don’t use are my vintage Coach ones. Some are from the sixties. I am currently looking for a way to display them.
Oooh, be sure to share the solution you devise. I would love a glass cabinet for my current lovelies but alas, no space. Now I need to look if there's a thread on display ideas...

I used to buy bags and not use them! It was so stressful and I felt really guilty over it, especially because I had some very expensive ones that just sat there waiting, so I got rid of the bags I didn't use. I took a long, hard look at my bag habits and needs and re-thought my bag buying process. Result! Now I use just about all the bags I have and have no problem letting go of the ones I don't use.

How about an IKEA Detolf glass cabinet? Doesn't take up much space.

The ones I didn’t use enough, I sold them all on poshmark. I don’t want to keep around bags that don’t get used. Of course use is subjective - I’m keeping my Prada saffiano bag even though I use it maybe every couple of months. I’m just picky about when I can bring it out for use and I also don’t want to overuse it to the point of ruin - I’ve seen a lady with a very abused and misshapen Prada and I swore I would never let mine get to that condition!
