I have quite a few bags now and I haven't gotten a change to use all of them yet, but I will! I really don't worry too much about getting them dirty or getting them scratched, etc. IMO the bags are meant to be used and enjoyed. I'm careful with them but I will never not use them in fear of ruining them.

Thank you thank you thank you all for confessing -- as I am guilty too.

I have a brand new Kooba Sienna -- paid full price cause I wanted the luggage color -- and it has just been in its dust bag. Meanwhile, I started using the Speedy the minute I got it and have no inclination to use anything else . . . .

I would feel awful if I had a bag and didn't use it. I think that's one sign that it may be time to turn your attention to something else. (Unless you are truely collecting.)

In fact, I did just reach that point myself...I bought a cute little red Fendi Selleria in February and had planned to use it in summer. Just yesterday I took her out for the first time. Until that I noticed her lying on the dustbag as a reminder that for the first time I bought a bag and didn't use it right away - time to turn my energy to something else. In my case, jewelry. :amazed:

So after a three year acquisition spree I have 25 bags and it's getting harder and harder to use them all 'enough'. There's exactly ONE more bag I want and then I'm taking a loooong break. Or, at least, in theory.

Yes, I'm bad at not using my bags. I have a couple that I bought four years ago and still haven't used yet. That's just my high end designer bags ... I still have lots of non-designer bags I still need to use. That's why my DH just shakes his head when he looks at the rows of bags in my closet.:noggin: (I love the new smileys!!)

I'm guilty too! I worry about using my LV sometimes just because I have had some close calls. (waitress spilled butter on me and it almost hit the unpatinaed vachetta, drunk lady spilled wine and it did splash on the vachetta of my Coach tote) Now I am starting to get paranoid. Plus I hardly ever use my brown suede with fushia trim Coach gallery tote because it is one of my favorite bags and I don't want anything to happen to the suede. I know it is silly, I should just use them but I do enjoy just looking at them all. They all sit on a bookcase in my bedroom where I can see and enjoy them.

Kat, I like how you think, and want to adopt that attitude about my  bags. After all, why and what am I waiting for? Since I won't be opening a purse museum any time soon, I'm determined to use more of my most favorite bags, and not get freaked out, EVEN if they get a bit (gulp) damaged.

I would feel guilty not using a bag I spent money on! As a rule, no matter what I buy, if I don't use it within the 1st week (weather/occassion permitting) I return it. Normally I am so in love with whatever I buy I can't wait to use it right away. I know when I don't feel this way about something I just purchased then I'm not totally in love with it & it should be returned. I like to get my moneys worth!
