Some of the female guests at the Dior men's show were wearing Dior looks by Jonathan Anderson (I thought Sabrina Carpenter's look was by Maria Grazia but it's not). These few looks are potentially teasers for what he will offer for womenswear. I think the skirt on the first look is so cute and chic, and styled very casually to dress a Haute Couture style down.

The skirt suit is gorgeous. The Lily of the valley is a nice print. I don’t understand why a black bag with the first look - a pop of colour or a perfectly matched grey would sell the lady Dior much better.

I was hoping for wearable, beautifully crafted women’s pieces that could integrate a bit better with what I already have. The design, quality, and rising prices of MGC’s recent collections has not impressed. However, I very much doubt Jonathan Anderson will pull me back in as a steady rtw regular. Im not exactly taken with his design or the prices so far. Since my Dior SA has left the flagship, I’m not entirely heartbroken at hitting pause/ wait and see.
I’m with you, hoping for glimpses to get me back… but I’m not sold… yet.

If anything, it makes me look at the current offerings from MGC and KJ, considering any pieces from these last few collections.

But I have not moved much.

If anything it makes me review the pieces I love, and how can I refresh to continue just wearing what I already own. Black, navy and grey everything, all day. LOL.

Not familiar with Dior RTW but in love with one the fall/winter dresses, the price tag however is truly atrocious for an unlined 100% cotton dress. Does anyone know if the seasonal belted shirt dresses tend to show up in the biannual sales?

It depends on the print, but by and large, the shirt dresses tend to sell out prior to making it to sale. However, the skirts from the same collection often do make it to sale in my experience. I agree that often times, the prices are hard to swallow.

@lala_retro , I agree with @luckylove re the seasonal print dresses. My most expensive one was Under the Sea a few years ago. It never made it to sale, and I still feel fortunate to have purchased it while my size was available. It remains one of my favorite dresses. If you absolutely love and must have a special pattern and will wear it well past its season, it may be worth it. If it’s a simpler pattern that’s likely to repeat like a TdJ, i would check out skirts. Your SA should be able to guess which are relatively plentiful and likely to make it to sale. I will say that I do wear the more basic skirts (or simpler hoodie dresses ) more than under the Sea.

Hope clients who are in town and who have made appts with their SAs to visit Dior NY flagship Opening in a few days or the Villa Event in Sept 10-14 (high jewelry, customized furs, bags, men’s MtM) will post pics. I am unsure that any of the categories appeal personally. I was mainly contacted for DH re men’s MtM. There is no way I would do any other category, so I won’t waste an appt slot during prime time. The store itself looks like it will be gorgeous, so I will visit after the craziness passes. :) The spa should be opening soon (I think SAs can make appts for their clients too).
