Here's the plaid! It'd need to be tailored.
They all look great! What do you need in your wardrobe: classic bar? Funky? If you already own a bunch of black classic jackets, then the answer might be different than if you need a classic

If you get a Dior tulle skirt, I personally prefer the ones with the dropped waist (Dior does them every season) as more flattering than the ones with the thin waistband, but JMO

ETA: it’s also possible that a seasonal might make it to sale eventually. classic black bar will more likely remain full price

Thank you so much!! This is so helpful.
Does Dior ever do sales/goes on sale at places like Nieman Marcus? I don't know that I'd be confident enough to buy a preloved jacket, not knowing how to authenticate it.

I'm also particularly enamored with this collection, I'd love to have a piece from it. I don't yet have a bar jacket; I have a couple of different black jackets of other shapes and lengths. One fitted one from Hermes that's a technical knit, a couple of longer coats, a Coach trenchcoat. I have one gray blazer I never wear, but probably because it needs to be tailored and I'm lazy.

I tend to dress casual most of the time and don't really wear dressy pants. Do you think the black one works casually with jeans? I want something I won't feel insane wearing just going on errands, but something fitted in the waist/flattering.

Sale is 40% at the boutique and Saks but you will have to play roulette or ask your SA if she thinks the plaid will make it. I think either jacket works with jeans or gray pants but IMO only, Dior jackets look best with other Dior pieces. I think Hermes, Chanel, Brunello, Loro piana tend to play better mixed with other brands or jeans. The black bar is most likely dressier than the Hermes technical one, but is also a classic, gorgeous statement. JMO and that shouldn’t prevent you from buying what you love.

ETA: I would try to figure out why you don’t wear your gray jacket. Whatever the reason is, it might give you good for thought on your next purchase. If you cannot decide between the two bar jackets, and if you have always wanted a skirt, then go for what you have always wanted. No wrong answer here

Sooo I did go against the advice in the thread and got the seasonal jacket, though I gave great weight to everyone's thoughts and experience! However, the plaid one just sang to me in particular, and they got a size 34 in. Here are some reasons I went seasonal:

- Small sizes seen harder to snag on sale anywhere, so even if it goes on sale, which may not happen because it's a popular collection, it might be hard to get the size.

- They had to tailor it to accommodate my shoulders, which are slightly broader than the jacket, and we don't have a Dior in our state

- This works so much more as a casual vibe to me, which works with my lifestyle. It's also warmer than the classic black bar, which means I'll wear it more often, as I get cold.

It'll be harder to match, but I have plenty of black I can pair it with.

Looks lovely! And good for you to know yourself well enough to get what you love and will wear. Enjoy it for years to come.

Great choice, congrats!

I felt like golidlocks. Nothing fit me. But, I guess it’s a savings to my wallet
My SA hasn't contacted me for a long time. It means that last collections won't make me happy.
We passed the boutique in Geneva, that carries a lot, much more than in Zurich, but we decided to skip it. I don't think, we were wrong:smile:

For anyone who is interested, this T shirt runs smaller than other Dior t shirts like j’dior. In size medium, which is a 38, it is sold out in North America (Dior boutiques plus authorized retailers like Saks); Geneva; Courcheval; Paris. It’s 1,900 USD and 1,700 EU, and is studded. My US SA calls it the Polaroid t shirt.

Note: my US SA is saving me a size small (36). I’m a size 36/38 Chanel, and I’m dubious that I will be able to squeeze into a Dior 36. Will update if it fits.
