Did you know that Robert Pattinson(Twilight) is a singer/songwriter?

he needs to get through his Twilight premier, press junkets, and general craziness. hopefully then he can concentrate on the music. He did say in an interview he wanted to put out a "proper album".

It is on Perezhilton...IMO does not sound that great.

I just watched that. I thought it was great.:shrugs:

His singing and his style of music remind me so so much of Donnie Hathaway. Maybe his voice is a little rougher in comparison, more country like Robert Johnson, but still VERY similar.

Rob should cover "A Song For You". That would be so awesome.

here's a clip of his latest performance

i think he sounds amazing, as usual!

i wish i could've gone to this show. the fact of who he is aside, i'm more excited about his music than i have been about any band or artist in a long while! and honestly, i had never heard of him or really cared all that much before he started getting exposure for twilight. then i stumbled across his music and now i'm a huge fan of his :D

^^I heard it again and I just think he sounds wasted. Such a shame...he is still gorgeous though.

I WONDER THOUGH.. why does every actor think he can sing??

i dunno, lot of them seem to, but in his case, he CAN, so it's all good ;) and not just sing, but WRITE a song, damn.

he may or may not be wasted, but some of it probably just his style of singing. he's not one of those singers that clearly pronunciates, lol. but it sounds more real that way, if ya know what i mean.

Yeah even when Amy Winehouse was totally ok, her words sounded a bit garbled when she sang. I think it lends great authenticity to a voice. Singers like Mariah Carey and Xtina sing it till it sounds 'perfect' then its Pro-Tooled to an inch of its life.... people are kind of tired of that. It loses personality. I think the great popularity of retro style singers speaks to that....

And if I was R.P. I would have gone for the music first, simply because there is a stigma attached to actors singing... he's way too good to fall victim to that. I mean I know the Twilight devotees will hate me, but I really hope that this movie and the popularity doesn't hurt his chance at a legit music career. Musicians becoming actors seems to be a more succesfull, less looked down upon venture.. know what i mean? Feel free to have no idea though:p

^no, i get it. like i said before, it would be a huge shame, and a loss, if the fact that he's an actor would stop this talent of his from getting out there. i realize that he's getting the bit of attention he does for this BECAUSE of the actor title atm, but when he inevitably becomes a massive star, it might be something different. perhaps he should keep it on the downlow sort of, like he is now. but i want to hear more!
