Diamond studs : Tiffany vs Cartier

I love the Tiffany studs better than Cartier. Darling do what your heart sings to you. I have so many people ask me why I spend that kind of money on my Birkins, they say it is just A bag. My answer is always the same..."because I can"

Life is too short to worry about little details, do what you please and love. Please post pic when you decide :)

I'm a Tiffany girl. I also prefer round cut stones to princess cut.

And because I am throwing out opinions, I would rather have larger non-branded or pre-owned studs if it meant that I could only have smaller (.22 ctw) studs from a high-end jeweler. My current studs (which are non-branded) are 1 ctw, and I feel like they are the smallest size for studs that you can wear "anywhere" and still have them be noticeable. I think seeing and trying on the studs in person will give you a better idea of if either makes your heart sing.

This may be a minor thing to some, but Cartier's earring backs are beyond maddening to use. They won't sell studs with an alternative closure either! The backs are like little discs that you have to squeeze on both sides to put on or off. Little tiny gold Frisbees that probably cost hundreds to replace when they go shooting down the drain. It may sound silly but it was the #1, #2, and #3 reason I did not get studs from Cartier. (The diamonds were TDF though!)

Thanks for the kind words, xblackxstarx!

OP--if you are looking at a different SHAPE between the two, ie round at one store vs princess at another, that is a whole different animal. That's literally comparing apples to oranges. You will get the best sparkle out of a well cut round, as well as better spread (face up size), vs a princess cut, so keep that in mind!
Thanks Ame for your time and knowledge. God bless.

Neither, I would go with Whiteflash ACAs or Brian Gavin Signature stones, the creme de la creme of diamonds.

However, if these aren't an option, I'd go with Tiffany over Cartier.

When we purchased my Tiffany studs (roughly 1.5 yrs ago) they were transitioning to these types of backs. I think at that time you could *special request* if you wanted a different backing, but basically they told me from that point on they intended to have all earring backings as these discs. Personally I agree they are kind of tiny and fiddly -- having to squeeze on something so tiny, without it popping away from your fingers is difficult. BUT its not a big problem to me.
