It's probably cus it's platinum.Omg you’re totally right! Yes it’s the 1 inch extension that’s costing the fee. The alteration to a fixed setting is free! I just didn’t expect 1 inch to cost so much LOL

Thank you so muchI’m glad! The fixed setting is how Tiffany describes it…Tiffany “floating” diamond necklace. Truly classic ❤️
That’s trueIt's probably cus it's platinum.Platinum generally is more expensive than gold.
Thank you so much for this tip!! Will definitely let my mom know to use both handsIf you have to adjust your chain for the pendant to be centered, never use only one hand to move your chain because it can break! Always use two hands, one hand on each side of the neck, and move it carefully and slowly to avoid breakage.
The SA that helped me with this order wasn’t in yesterday, so I have to wait for a response. You’re right, I’m sure there was miscommunication. I looked at the service notes, and it said to just “solder the diamond to the chain permanently”. I think it would’ve been best to say “change the bail setting to the fixed stationary setting”. Will keep you posted how it goes!Oh my. Such a disppointment. What do they have to say about it? This was clearly miscommunication somewhere along the line. They should make it right.
I’d be very disappointed, too!The SA that helped me with this order wasn’t in yesterday, so I have to wait for a response. You’re right, I’m sure there was miscommunication. @skyqueen I managed to get the SA that worked with me online to get this! She said she’s submitting a request to see what they can do. Not sure yet about fees or timeline. Apparently the service team wrote those notes, so she didn’t know this would happenI’d be very disappointed, too!
This is an easy fix and Tiffany should fix it…no charge! Keep us posted!
@papertiger Oh my, that must’ve been a lot of time/effort to wait for the brooch & explain! I just wish the SA or service team forwarded the photos I sent (pre-alteration) as referencesI had to send my brooch back twice before they knew what the 'ell I was going on about when I wanted a safety chain.
Take it back, email and send a picture of what you meant. It is so ridiculous, fixed pendants are so common place atm, they have no excuse.
@RJY 3 times?!?! That’s crazy...and the fact that you had to rely on your own jeweler. I’m hoping your bangle has better functionality now! You have the patience of a saint. I’m willing to send it back the second time, not sure about a third D:I think their expertise is overrated. I bought a discontinued Tiffany Atlas bangle from a reseller and wanted Tiffany to fix the spring opening and put on a safety clasp. I had to send it to them three times to get it right and I still had to have my own jeweler tighten the safety loop in the end.
I really didn't want to, lol. They called after the 2nd time to ask if I was satisfied with the work so I truthfully said no. They convinced me to try again. Silly me said okay.@skyqueen I managed to get the SA that worked with me online to get this! She said she’s submitting a request to see what they can do. Not sure yet about fees or timeline. I hope they’ll know what I mean this time. The SA told me she knew what I meant, just the service team didn’t.

Omg I can’t even imagine the turnaround time for that...you had faith!! I actually told the SA if it doesn’t work out the second time, that’s fine, I’d just like to return it instead. But since it’s “altered/customized” brand new, it cannot be exchanged nor refunded. We’ll seeI really didn't want to, lol.
