Delayed shipment from Germany using DHL Germany/Deutsche Post - and I'm using premium

Hi daniels,

I came to this forum, because i'm in the same situation as you. I have ordered a musician instrument on 26/March/2012 in German, they also shipped the item with DHL.de. Now i'm still waiting for the updated of the shipment. And now the parcel still didn't reach Hong Kong as well. So i guess we are on the same plane or ship? I guess. Please update me when you have received your item. And i will do this as well. I also opened a investigation with the seller. I hope the item shipped in "SLOW" status rather than "LOST"! But i am worry about the quality of my instrument, cos the weather is unstable and wet.

I think we're on the same shipment. Did your seller send using premium and went through frankfurt? I called dhl and they said if it's sent through frankfurt then it would be delivered using airplane.
Now I already moved to my new address and I check hk post everyday so I could call them when it has arrived. It makes me crazy!

Actually if it's deliver by plane it shouldn't takes two months! Or they maybe only sent with one or two planes and deliver all the items to whole asia? I have did some search on google, i found out that many other peoples got same situations like us. They also took 1 and half month to receive the item in HK. But my shipment now is taking more than 1 and a half month.

Yes it's started with CL! If you track your item, you should see the last location. If it's frankfurt then it must be by air.
Have you asked the sender to start an investigation for you? If you havent, you better start one so at least they try to find the package. And dont forget to ask a case number because you wont get any follow ups without it.
To be honest, I feel better if it happens to a lot of packages. So chances to get it is still there. By the way I also check another forum and I know there's a guy who had his package dispatched on the same day as mine and he hasnt received it. I guess our packages are in the same plane (or ship?). Oh my, I think dhl germany has the worst services ever!

my last location is "IPZ-Ffm, DE" The shipment will be transported to the destination country and, from there, handed over to the delivery organization.

Yes, they hv already started the investigation, and they said it could takes up to 4-6weeks. And they promised me that i will get a replacement or refund when the investigation finished. Anyway, i can call my bank for cc chargeback if they don't return my money.

Yes, i will never used again, although their shipping fees are very cheap, my items are around 12kg, only charge 50eur(500HKD). If ship by fedex or ups, probably will cost 3000HKD or more. But i understand now, nothing good for cheap shipping company.

you're so lucky, I sent the money using bank wire so I can only wait for the package. I'm amazed how they can lost a 12 kg package. It just doesn't make sense.
the worst thing is that dhl customer service keep insist that it's not normally happenning, and only to my package. not to add that the customer service is sucks. they keep repeating the same useless information without putting any effort to help. worst worst worst service ever!

I looked into this and unfortunately DHL express does not work with goods from Germany, only documents. so any parcel with goods will be sent via regular DHL which can take time - although it has never taken me this much time (2 months) except for once and I used to ship to the US occassionally. for future reference you would probably be better off using a different courier

I hv searched on the other hk forum, it took them 1 and half a month to receive the item too. But I'm waitin more than this period now. Some other guy also mentioned that it took about 2 months to see the item reached hongkong.

You can still claim the money back from eBay and the shipping company, right? How much money are they going to cover upto?

I'm paying using bank wire so no protection, I know it's my fault the protection is only up to 500 euro only. But I really want to get the bag, it's cannot be found anywhere else and that's why I bought from germany.

No, I hv signed a form called "no claim form" , the seller gave me the form that I to sign and promise that I won't claim against the shipping company by myself, so that the seller can help me the claim the money back. I also want the instrument shipped to me rather than money back. It's hard to buy it elsewhere, it's a limited edition. How abt u? Hv u got any news from the seller？

Update as of today: my package finally arrived!! I should call hkpost tomorrow morning to inform that the address need to be changed. After 45 days of waiting, can't sleep at night and calling the dhl customer service almost everyday.

After waited for a month and half. How's your package Daniels307? Recevied?
Is it normal that DHL.de website cannot check the package status when HKpost tracking info updated on the webpage, how long does it take to deliver to your home ?
