pamella .. congrats on the 'Les Cles' in the navy .. that was one of my first H scarves back then .. had to save for that one .. didn't know about the story but it really sounds enchanting.

I've got my eye on a pink one that a friend has offered but can't buy it yet - I just bought a double tour on ebay. It never ends, does it? Congratulations on yours, Pamella!

Okay, I may have just stumbled on perhaps the most useless bit of "useless trivia" ever to enter my brain and be forever stuck there, taking up space that could be put to better use.

The movie Zardoz - yes we've all seen the worst pic of Sean ever - no need to drag it back out - is on and the name came from

The Wizard of Oz

And now you can't un-know it either! :p

tillie, congrats on Les Girouettes - that's a great find and a great buy! And it looks beautiful with Ms. Goldie.:yahoo:
I am hereby joining your little group of enablers - being a major addict myself, I think I'm entitled!:graucho:

**BUCKLE UP TILLIE** .. background sounds of the rickety cart gg up the vintage rollercoaster ..
The ride just began....and I'm afraid I can't get off...

I tell DH .. 'I can always sell my stuff' and he goes .. "na'ah .. such a deal, you should keep them"
.. So .. uhm .. well do I keep pinging on all the deals ?? AHAHAHA !!
I love how he thinks......what a sweetie! And, of course......keep buying the goods! Especially if the price is right

Tillie! Congrats! Love the new scarf! And the one your DD got for you - so special! Thanks Irish, I was practicing wearing it like a top that I saw you and Pamella do

The same thing happened to me. I've always worn lots of scarves and I couldn't imagine there could be that much difference between mine and Hermes to justify that price. So I just knew I was safe.

Until one day. "until one day"

Since then, it's been a blur.

I fell HARD.

True, GK...now what's that line from "The Blues Brothers?" :coolio::coolio::coolio: (that's you, me, and Lily in our Blues Brother sunglasses)" Oh yes: "We're on a mission from god."

And tillie, In this case, its the little god Hermes--god of travel, right? And the best part is that your wardrobe just expanded exponentially--with these light, bright, simple little bits of cloth....it's like a miracle!!!! (And now I get to say it: Five more pounds to lose to fit into all of my wardrobe, and I'll suit up with a scarf....and post pics!

Okay, gotta meet DH on deck for an after-dinner assignation..... He bought a little itty pressie for me today and I wish to show my gratitude;)
Have fun, and let us know what he bought you... :ty:...one and all for standing there cheering while I fell, then ran....down the slope!! :hugs:

Thank you LGA....... you had a part in it! I'll be reporting back when I pick up my Kachinas :p

You don't have to. If you have a pretty ring (costume) around that is not too large, you could start with that and see if you even like using a ring. I don't use one all the time.

Nor do I, tillie, as I actually love the look of a pretty, well-tied knot, but they're nice for a change, and I do love the horn chaine d'ancre, as it's so lightweight.

Lily Yes, I agree with you! The furbies were on their best behavior today! I was
MIA today too, doing lots of house things. Organizing kitchen cabinets and ironing those
wonderful sheets, and out doing errands. Now you poor dear, must be sick of looking
at those plump, red, juicy gorgeous tomatoes! I don't know how you can keep up with
your "real work" and "watch your tomatoes too"! You cute little tomato you!!! I'll
bet the aroma is wonderful, though!

The office does smell pretty fabulous, pamella, and it will for several months to come, but it's due to the pickling spices and not the darn tomatoes.

And, the only way I can keep up with the real work is to keep putting a few extra hours in each day during "tomato season."

I've just heard that there will be another 30 lbs. or so arriving on Monday. I feel a sick day coming on!:graucho:

We always seem to have "somthing in the pipeline"! I'm waiting to get
"Les Cles", have wanted it for such a long time, and Lily told me how each
of the keys fits a door of a famous building in Paris and the one in the middle
was from the collection of Mr. Hermes himself. Well, I was a gonner, I just
love the "stories" that go along with them! It should be arriving any day now.

The fabric pouch in the center of the scarf is from the Emile Hermes collection, p. You'll see when you get it, which I hope will be any day now.:p

Just love Les Cles and the Medor studs along the border too. I don't think a collection is complete without this scarf. It's simple but so complex at the same time.

Tillie, welcome to the world of being obsessed with Hermes scarves. The weathervanes with Goldie is just perfect, and how amazing to find a Kachinas at that price. I have a pink Kachinas, it's one of my treasures. If it's cool tomorrow, I might give it an outing :thinkin: I have only one Hermes bag, and that is probably going to be enough for me for a very long time, but I avidly and obsessively collect scarves.

Lily is a great enabler on this, she likes to forward me eBay auctions for things that she knows are my colors (when she's not processing tomatoes, that is). I've sent her a few goodies, too. It's all included in being a Furbie!

Yeah, the darn tomatoes have kept me from even glancing at eBay, shelbs. I'm depending on you and LGA to email me with anything you think I can't live without!

Speaking of eBay, and since so many of us seem to be scouting it these days for scarves, I'd hate to think that we'd be bidding against each other and driving the prices up. Furbies should stick together, right?

If anyone is interested, we might think about listing the auction we're tracking and calling "dibs." Of course, we'd be on the honor system, but I think it could work. If anyone wants to try it, just do so, and we'll see how it shakes out.

I'm not looking at anything right now - all I see are TOMATOES!

quick pop in to say hi to all and

Major CONGRATS to you, Tillie - you hit the motherload with your consignment finds - love the Kachinas and the Girouettes (and did you get Emperons also?) You will have so much fun finding special silks, and finding so many fun ways to wear them (and IIFC, you are slender so can pull off the scarf top with ease - lucky, not everyone can).

Just wait til you try on the jerseys......oh oh.... :graucho:

(hey, I gotta enable a bit here too - these silks were my doorway into Hermes and I'm into the 300s now - but even with that amount, the process of hunting, finding, and acquiring each scarf has brought such great joy.)

SO GO TILLIE - WHOOO HOOOOO! You will never have so much fun! :yahoo:

Les Cles is such a classic, gorgeous, all time favorite - I got mine (it was brand new for that season, in red and pinks) from a french reseller with a very long name who is a sweetheart. I may be wrong, but I seem to recall in the research that the center piece is what the rouloutesses (sp?) use to hold their needles while they hem the scarves - like a big pin cushion.

so way to GO Tillie - very excited for you!
