:lolots: She's good. I would have a hard time keeping a straight face.

OH, she's completely brilliant with the one-liners. She has an incredibly dry wit. We used to write this stuff down, because it's so priceless. She's very very quiet, so when she comes out with this stuff, it makes you fall over in fits of laughter.

By the sounds of it mojo, I am guessing that your son is younger than my daughters? We wouldn't allow her to go on this kind of trip if she were younger than 17, but I totally agree with you...it will be a huge eye-opener for her, and a very good chance to gain some perspective on her life and the world around her (albeit, for a very brief time).

oh yes, way younger - he's only turning 5 in oct - so I have a loooooooooong way to go to catch up!

we do try to discipline and also not spoil him too much (can barely hold back the grandparents!!) and also let him know about how other children grow up in less privileged circumstances but only so much is getting through at this point.

must confess I've never liked europe in the summer - as you say, sweltering and completely over-run with tourists......

are you just doing paris?

^^^yes, just Paris. Can't wait. We will be celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary, my 50th birthday :nuts::nuts:, (and hopefully, a full recovery for me.)

He's still a wee little thing mojo! Sounds like you're doing a wonderful job...and I completely understand...grandparents are a hazard at times when it comes to spoiling them!
