decormyeyes....again

^I think he owns most of the ebay sites for eyewear.

One day I was navigating decormyeyes.com for Balenciaga sunglasses and went to put an item in my cart, not necessarily intending to buy them, just to think it over. A screen popped up asking for my email address. I thought that was really odd to be asked for an email address prior to beginning the checkout process.

The next day I received 2 emails from them noting I had an item in my cart and that they needed payment. I replied that I had concerns about authenticity and got the standard "we guarantee authenticity blah blah" response. I did not reply.

The following day they sent an email that my credit card was declined but I hadn't even made a purchase! I replied stating this and received an apology email with an offer of a 10% discount towards a future purchase. This was a calculated plan, to entice me to order by "intentionally making a mistake".

Other websites they own are popularglasses.com and eyewearus.com. The address under contact us is Brookyln and they use the same graphics for repair jobs.

gotcha, and also I wanted to add that after saying that he is really in Somalia, he said he wants to help develop weapons of mass destruction against America and while that is all likely a bunch of crap, I still reported him to the terrorist tips page on the FBI page because you can't even joke about that stuff. Also, I submitted this info to the fraud department of the FBI so even if they can't take action for that, they can investigate his HUGE scam.

I was looking for some designer glasses awhile ago, found a pair that I liked and put them in the cart. I got an email sign-up prompt, which I didn't think anything of. I didn't buy the glasses..thank God, but I got a couple of reminder form emails from this guy that made this company seem "off". I ignored & reported them as spam.
It's much better to just go to LensCrafters or EyeMasters even if they might cost more than Costco, Sam's, or Walmart. I prefer Costco anyway...got a membership there and I've been using their optical center with no problems for awhile. The script can be obtained anywhere easily enough, but finding a pair of glasses that you like can be trickier.

That article was a good read. I guess the key is to stop linking to his website?

ETA: It's good to see that some action has been taken against him. It's not okay to treat people like that, regardless if the reason (not that I buy his marketing strategy BS).

ETA again: I just searched for "designer eyeglasses" on Google, and didn't see DME come up. Who knows if any of these other stores are his or not though.

this guy is a disgusting human being. wtf is his problem? he seems to think that it would work against him if he provided customers with legit items and decent customer service. what a knob.

folks have been scammed by this site for YEARS. i think since i first joined tpf to be honest, which was about three years ago (maybe longer).
