I used to smoke too when I was 16 trying out secretly behind my parents back. I continue to be addicted, smoking 10 cigarettes a day till one day at 18, I suffered a very bad cough. My parents eventually discovered about my addiction and send me to our family doctor to curb my addiction. When the doctor told me that if I don't stop immediately, I will suffer from lung cancer; I was totally stunned. Since then, I quit smoking. It's not easy to quit smoking but with the support of my parents and siblings, I finally managed to curb from smoking totally.
IMO, ML should not be a bad example towards her daughter. She may smoke but she should not encourage her daughter as well. My parents never supported my addiction at all. My dad was totally screwed up when he discovered my addiction.
