Wow. I hope no one in this thread gets their credit cards stolen/house robbed/identity stolen/etc. I'm sure you'd all jus be doing it for the attention and that the cops have better things to worry about than your personal information or property being taken, right?

Olympic gymnast McKayla Maroney says she was under 18 when the hacked nude photos of her were taken ... and now she's taking legal action against several porn sites that reposted the images.

TMZ has learned one of Maroney's attorneys fired off a letter to Porn.com ... informing the site that McKayla was underage in several of the photos. The letter demands the images of McKayla -- who turned 18 last December -- be taken down immediately.

Another attorney for the gymnast sent a different letter to multiple websites stating Maroney owns the copyright on the hacked photos.

The legal claims by her attorneys are a strong indication the photos really do show McKayla -- even though she said on Twitter they were "fake photos." It's also possible only portions of the images are really McKayla. The letter is not specific.

A rep for Porn.com tells us they immediately removed the pics once they got the letter from Maroney's attorney.

Girl is admitting to a felony of creating child porn? Lots of kids around the country have been charged for that. Look up the various 'sexting' stories.

The hacker committed the crime and the celebs exercised poor judgement by taking these pics and keeping them on their devices. It's just that simple. At the end of the day the hacker is the one to blame because they committed the crime but you can't say that the celebs didn't contribute to this unfortunate situation.

Why does everyone keep saying this (well my knowledge of this 'scandal' is only this thread)?

Someone mentioned they looked like casting couch pics...what does that mean? :confused1::hrmm:

I do not want to look at the photos, but can someone just say in general what is meant by 'casting couch pics?'

Harvey Weinstein's casting couch is infamous. A lot of rumors circulated that she slept with him for roles and for awards. He has been accused of bribing the Academy in the past for Oscar wins.

I only saw Kate and Jennifer's pictures. It's so sad. Jennifer's looked more "casting couch" because they were pretty bad... like she was putting on a drugged-out porno show. Kate's pictures were more the kind that someone would send to a boyfriend. I can't think of a better way to describe it. I would like to un-see the pictures, actually.

The casting couch is where guys and gals go to f$%k for roles. The further you're willing to go, the more opportunities you get. The CC pics are usually celebs in compromising positions and can be used for blackmail, or for the personal use of the exec/director/etc taking them. It means the higher-ups will always have something over the celeb, it's all puppetry.

This. It makes me laugh that people claim to know what the heck "casting couch" pics are supposed to look like. The reality is lots of women (and men) take photos in exactly the same way, same poses etc and send them to their SO's or sexual partners so it's not just these actresses/celebs.

Unfortunate that it's being used to tarnish the celebs name without any real evidence.

It's like "I had a lock on my diary that wasn't strong enough, so it's my fault you broke into it".

*smh*

Edit: On doing research, on both The Weinstein Company and Harvey Weinstein seperately, the only film that Harvey has been involved with JL on was Silver Linings Playbook in 2012. JL had already made her mark on HW by that point - her breakthrough came with Winter's Bone in 2010.

And she wears a lot of Marchesa dresses -- another tie in some say since the "designer" is Weinsteins wife.

The guy from Game of Thrones who plays Jamie Lannister said he was offered the world in Hollywood when he was younger if he only would lay on the couch so to speak-- he declined and look how long it took him -- he's got the looks, body, height and decent acting and he's in his mid 40's. Who knows who he might of been if he had only laid on the casting couch.

Ryan Seacrest is another famous example.
