Oh wow....a lot has been going on here...I am happy to see a resolution to one problem...but very sad to hear about the LionLaws problem...

I know I for one have not had any problems and have had a handful of BEC and group bespoke bags, and every single one has been dead on what I ordered, and my CS has been fantastic on every order...but I am sad to see that has not always happened for others.

Well, they obviously don't value me as customer. Which is fine with me. I am done with them. The response to my email this morning basically telling them I will no longer be a customer since it took over a week for them to get back to me and the response did not address my questions and asked me to lie on customs is as follows:

I’m really sorry to hear that. By way of response:

On timing:

We contacted you initially to inform you that our atelier had a national holiday until Thursday, so we didn’t have any way of contacting them. I believe that X kept in touch with you every day to inform you that we were still waiting for them to get back to us with answers, which they did as soon as they got back on Friday.

Today is Saturday and X doesn’t work on Saturdays, but she made an exception as she knew that you were waiting.
Whether they are going to replace the bag or not shouldn't be dependent on whether they can recoup their costs. This is really poor, sucks you had to be bothered with all that :(

Lionlaw, I'm very sorry to hear you're having problems.

I still think BE should make the proper bag & simply send it to you. At the end of the day, you didn't receive the bag you ordered.

I don't understand this whatsoever.

I"m being curious today but does anyone know if Jackie took the suggestion onboard re numbering the different leather's?

I recall when BE switched tans and kept that quiet and then customer's started to discover it on their own. I have to laugh whenever someone sees my tan weekender set (new tan) since they always comment on it being a nice orange travel piece. And I recall Jackie saying there was absolutely no orange tones. That's funny now! Don't get me wrong I still love my weekender set and am happy that others in my family love it too but I get a smile when they call it orange.

Personally, I think they should just call the new tan "orange".;)

Also ladies I just wanted to let everyone know about a quality issue I"m having with my port and root BE's. I've noticed that with my black pebbled and milk choco there were never any scratches on the surface. Although the durablitity factor with these leathers are wonderful they're just way too heavy for me especially as an everyday choice.

SO: When I received my new port and root I was attracted to how lightweight they are. But here's the bad news. I"m noticing with very gentle wear they are getting scratches all over and can't be buffed out. They are quite noticeable for some reason too.

Maybe I'll try at some point to take pics if they will show up on my camera so you can better understand what I"m talking about. I wanted to report this here so that others can be careful about this issue.

And I'd also like to hear everyone's feedback on their pebbled bags to see if I"m the only one having this problem. Thanks!

I have black, wine and red pebbled bags, and the black and wine wear like iron. The red is lighter, more delicate, and is prone to scratches much like the matte leathers are. The grain on the red is smaller and more even than the black and the wine.

The scratches do rub out, but the 'gloss' on the surface of the leather lessens a bit when rubbed...I think whatever coating that makes the pebbled leather shine gets buffed away. I personally don't mind it since the red is a very bright bag anyway, but it is something to take note of if you like the shine of the pebbled leather.

Thanks for sharing this. You're absolutely correct about the black wearing like iron. My black glossy HM looks brand new from the day it arrived. But, it just sits in my closet because of the weight.

I think you're red must be similiar to my port and root. I'm definetely one of those that love the shine on my root and port so it would bug me if it started to become dull. But so far I haven't had that happen. It's just the scratches that I'm dealing with. At first there was just one or two so I didn't even mention it but now there are a few and I"m worried more will show since I"ve only been wearing my root for a few days.

Tell me how are you getting the scratches out? Mine just won't come out no matter what I do and they are really noticeable especially on the root since the scratches appear as white.

Thanks for your help!

If it is a deep/large scratch I use Blackrock's Leather N' Rich, apply a little dab on the scratch and rub. Most times I just rub the scratch out with my fingers.

PS: Blackrocks should be used with care, because it lifts the colors off some leathers so experimentation is not advised.

I've been using my orange hold me everyday, and it seems to be a very durable leather. I'm not easy on my bags, but it doesn't have any scratches yet.

The only problem I have noticed is that there is one little loose thread on the handle, I hope I don't get any more.

Just an FYI I purchased some of the color enhancing products from LovinMyBags and there is also a Shine Restore product as well to fix same of the problems you mention on the more delicate BE leathers. I have used these on my Wine MMS and it works really well to restore the shine and enhance the color.

Thank you! I"m going to order this product since I love the shine on my pebbled bags and want to keep it looking that way.:smile1:

Oh cool!!! Thank you for letting me know. I really appreciate it.

Lionlaw~you seemed to be thrilled about your BE bags. I'm sorry that this incident has set you off the bags. I'm curious if similar incidents happened with JC. As I understand it, CS/QC was a problem with Ignes. What brand do you think will meet your exacting standards? I'm a picky person, too.
