Gingersierra, may I ask where you purchased your BE from?

One of the tags does look different from the other and has the "old-style" crystal and stud.

Scratches on sheen/glossy leather can happen and some great leather conditioner should help. Lovinmybags products are amazing for this purpose.

Could it be a returned bag? But would BE take back a bag with mismatching crystals, a split tag and resell it? And why did you not expect a perfect (or near perfect) bag if you bought it new from the website? Sorry, instead of answers I have questions kuz I'm new around here.

For anyone with questions,

I am posting questions about this bag because I too am new around here. In fact, this is my first BE bag, and I did not know if some of the issues I am bringing up were common or not.

As far as perfection, I can accept a few small flaws here and there when purchasing handbags, it happens. As far as it being a returned bag, I have absolutely no idea. I will admit that the marks on the bag, the strange tags, and the older dustbag have made me question this. I did contact BE about the tags with photos, and they didn't mention anything about the two different styles of the crystals.

Please, feel free to ask any questions you have. I just want to understand what's going on with this handbag.

I'm like you, gingersierra, brand new and learning. I just bought my first BE three weeks ago. I hope you'll be able to figure things out and get whatever needs fixing fixed. :smile1:

Contessa,

I purchased the bag full price directly from the BE website. I did wonder about the two different tags, and was also surprised when it arrived with an older style dustbag.

Full price?? From BE??

Have you contacted Jackie or Rose about this bag??

In my opinion, this isn't acceptable at full price. The scrapes, defective tags.......not right.

Full price bags are returnable so I'd contact Jackie and find out about a return or exchange. If you want to keep the bag then I'd use some conditioner on it to see if the marks will rub out. I had an aubergine bag once that only required conditioner to take out marks and scuffs. And if you keep the bag request a new set of tags. The split tag would bug me. I love aubergine! I have a WTM in aubergine that will arrive in time for Christmas!

Yep, full price from BE. In fact, I just received the bag on Thursday. I have contacted Jackie and am awaiting a response.

I know she's in Paris on business right now, but be patient......I'm certain BE will try to resolve this situation to your satisfaction. Perhaps you can exchange it for another one- at full price as TL has stated, they are definitely returnable.

Hi Ginger, I believe these marks can actually occur on sheen leather naturally. I had the same on my petrol sheen bag. I don't think conditioner will take them out because I tried but you may have more luck. In any case I would take Contessa's advise. If the marks bother you, you may be better off asking for one without marks. Not all bags have them. The leather on my aubergine MMS Midi has none.

Hi Gingersierra

I agree with Contessa that none of the matters that you have pinpointed are 'normal' for BE or any other new direct from supplier bag. I feel sure that Jackie will sort the situation out for you when she has seen your photos.

Gingersierra..First of all I think it is a wonderful colour and style you got on your first BE!

Secondly, since you bought it at full price from BE, I would not accept the tags or the scratches on the bag.
These look like typical nail scuffs, which happens all the time with my bags, but I placed them myself..lol..and some leathers are more prone to this than others... like with the Aubergine, Wine sheen , Petrol sheen and the Turquoise sheen. But I like them anyway!

The cotton type of dustbag IS an older type, and the Aubergine leather is not that old with BE, so I'm surprised this is used in lieu of the the silky version..
So I can only chime in with other posters and ask you to contact BE asap.

I'm glad you contacted Jackie.

I have those types of markings all over my BE handbags but they were done by very gentle wear. They're on my petrol, wine and even taupe matte. Since they show as white I find them quite noticeable. I've even mentioned it before in my reviews.

Eventually I just gave up on buying BE sheen or matte for my handbags because of these white marks (choco and dark grey are better). And I"ve had much better luck in my pebbled although even my port spm has a marking (not white/less obvious) on the front so it can even happen to the newer pebbled as well.

I"m sure since you paid retail that BE will allow a refund or exchange. That's a great benefit for buying stocklist and at full price.

Maybe next time if you decide to buy another BE consider trying a pebbled or crash. I haven't had any issue with my pewter crash either.

Meanwhile, I hope this all works out for you. A new BE should look perfect out of the box. All my markings developed a few weeks later.
Good Luck!
