Curated ears a la Maria Tash

That will look very pretty! What size are your main pair? I think around one-third to one-half the size of the main pair would be balanced. Or you could do something slightly different, like smaller ones set in a triangle or flower or crawler.

If you want flatbacks, I’ve had a really hard time finding lab stones, so you might have to go with mined stones from Maria Tash which I’ve heard are good quality and sparkly but pricey. You can also find lots of options on Etsy in diamond and moissanite but quality can really vary.
The main pair are not studs. They are 6 diamonds, 1 in center 5 around so think flower(but doesn’t scream flower because of a lot of shine and brightness) and on a French wire setting so an antique feel. I feel like anything bigger than 1/4 carat would detract from them. I want them to be the stars for this event. I usually wear a lot of jewelry layered and stacked and am pairing back for this event.

@foxgal Apologies for the quality of the photos. I tried to take better pics, but it's really hard to photograph such a small and shiny object lol. This is MT's threaded 3.5 mm stud in YG.
Where do you wear this one?

I just ordered a 2.5 mm for my third lobe piercing, and it's too small for my liking. I currently wear a traditional butterfly back 3 mm in that hole and thought slightly smaller would be nice, but it looks way smaller. I'm sure the martini prongs on my current one give the illusion of a larger stone... but even the stone seems more than .5 mm bigger.

Edit: Assuming I like this one, I also plan on buying larger ones for my 1st and 2nd piercings. I figure if the 3rd one is smaller the other ones will be too, so that the cost won't get as crazy. LOL

I’ve been wearing Maria Tash 3.5 mm studs in my second and third piercings for a while. Recently, I finally caved and got the 4.7 mm for my first piercings. The price is obviously steep compared to buying loose stones, but after years of considering other options, I decided to take the hit and get what I truly liked. No other setting looks quite like Maria Tash’s invisible diamond. In fact, because there are no prongs, the stones actually seem larger. I initially considered the 5 mm, but the height difference from 4.7 mm to 5 mm was surprisingly significant. I didn’t love how the earrings stuck out due to that, so I went with the 4.7 mm instead.

Thank you, appreciate the detailed response.

How are all of your Maria tash pieces holding up ?
I used to collect them years ago but had numerous issues .
I had the serpent diamond stud which had the post snap off .
The plain gold hoop clickers which broke x3
Diamond pave clickers multiple became super lose so the clickers weren't secure
However I have a spike conch stud which has stayed in for a few years no issues .
It really put me off spending so much on the earrings which can break so easily
I still have some of them sat in my jewelry box broken . Not sure if they can be repaired

I had read a few bad reviews about MT earrings but I really liked them and I don’t know if I’ve just been lucky but mine have all held up great. My two screw backs I never take out and I was worried they’d loosen but they haven’t. I have 5 diamond hoops which I do take in and out to swap with other earrings and to clean and so far so good the hinge still feels strong and they’ve never come loose. All of them I’ve now had between 1-2 and a half years as they weren’t all bought at the same time

I had a 18 Gauge, 8mm gold hoop arrive with basically no friction to hold it shut. They did replace it though. Eventually that closing friction went away (even though I don't even change it out very often), and it opened while I wearing it, losing a charm that way. I still have it, but basically consider it broken at this point.

My slightly thicker hoops seem fine at the moment, but only time will tell.

I've been wearing invisible diamond studs in various sizes for over four years without any issues—no loosening, no parts falling off. However, I'm curious about the brand’s customer service. Have either of you tried bringing broken items to the brand for repairs? At this price point, I’d expect their service to be on par with Cartier and other luxury brands that offer repairs.

I wish I had as good luck with the earrings as you have. I had the single diamond hoops. One has a solid locking system to this day while the other struggles to latch. Both of my invisible diamond studs had issues with the screw locking mechanism. The first one had problems early on and was repaired with great customer service and I thought it was a one off. When the second one had issues, I realized that their earrings although beautiful just don't have a great reliability. I have stopped buying them a while ago.

I just recently bought one invisible diamond stud, thought I'd try it out before investing in studs for all my (5) lobe piercings.

In any case, I am wearing the 5 mm post on my upper / third piercing, and it (their shortest) seems too big, which surprised me. I'm in NYC next month and intend to go to the store and have them look at it. I think it's on as tight as it will go. Wondering if they will adjust it for me. Did this happen to anyone else?

Hi! Interesting—I saw that they offer different post lengths on their website, but I purchased MT through Nordstrom, where the post length wasn't specified, so I'm not sure which one I'm wearing. I'll measure tomorrow and let you know. I feel like slightly shortening them might be a little better for earrings in my first piercings.

When I purchased mine Maria tash wasn't sold in the UK so there was no where to take it for repairs without paying shipping g and insurance to the USA and back again and import fees on top of that . It wasn't worth it to me .
However now they have Maria Tash in harrods London I believe so if I had purchased them now I would have tried getting them repaired . ( if they can do that in London )
I also have a solid gold industrial bar custom made by Maria tash ... that's held up well but I stopped wearing it as its too big for my industrial piercing sadly .
All in all I've lost thousands on maria tash earrings that have either fallen out or lost their clicker locking .
Bare in mind i didn't own them that long for this to happen it was all within the first year of owning and I'm not taking them in and out either . There was no reason for the clickers to fail . I don't do anything that would result in any damage to the earrings like I don't go swimming .
