Is it just me or does anybody else think that the fashion in this movie stinks?!! I read the books and in my mind, Becky has a more refined, classy sense of fashion. In the movie, Becky's fashion borders on tacky and gaudy!! The pieces may look good individually but put them together like she did, it was beyond tasteless. I was very disappointed with that and even more disappointed when I found out that Pat Fields did the clothings in the movie. What happened?! Becky is like a tacky version of Carrie. Carrie's clothes, while very out there and the some of pieces are loud, when put together, it's beautiful. It's classy and she carries it off very well.

I was so suprised that the fashionites in this forum love the clothes and fashion in the movie. I thought there would be someone that would share my view. Anyways, just needed to vent.

love the ferragamo python flap bag, cos-asking who made the orange-red briefcase?

Agree that some style is kinda too colorful, beyond eye-catching. i love the white black plaid coat(at the end the street woman wears). I was actually looking at a red ferragmo marisa in their boutiques, but then I am asking myself how I am going to wear it? Then I looked at Isle Fisher, looked at all the clothing and accessories, you got the answer....

I kind of thought the same as you.
While there were pieces here and there that were awesome the way they were put together on her was kind of strange.
And yeah, when I read the book I pictured her more refined. I thought the movie made her look on the tacky side.

I agree with you, they way she dressed in the book (in my mind atleast) vs the way in the movie was totally different... esp what she's wearing in the opening scene... The fashion could have been done a lot better.

I enjoyed the movie/fashion... there are so few that belong to this genre (well, maybe not a few~ but not enough :amuse:)
I will take whatever I can get... to me it was like runway with a story line.... maybe not exactly what you would wear but definitely something for everyone!!!
She is just the cutest , too!

I know this is an old thread but rewatched the movie on cable last night.

Does anyone know who made/where I could find the blue beaded necklace that Allette is wearing near the end of the movie where she is offering Rebecca a job? Bright blue with clusters of beads on one side.......Thanks!
