I did not go to High School in the USA ^^^^ so instead of Shakespeare I had to memorize Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra (Don Quixote): "All sorrows are less with bread".... and a few Bals:p

Came late to the game, but I'm here to stay. I am waiting for my 2nd Balenciaga: 2009 Anthracite Day.

Welcome, welcome--it's never too late, GF! Feel free to slay us with your literary genius!

In the Lounge since early Sunday morning (only yesterday.....but it sure seems longer, ha!) Thank goodness we are back to a normal mail day tomorrow!

A portion of what I memorized...and still remember because I  it:

“Though nothing can bring back the hour
Of splendor in the grass, of glory in the flower
We will grieve not
Rather find strength in what remains behind" [especially our Bal oldies]

First part the beauty of William Wordsworth - - - pink part LoveHandbags! :graucho:

Wishing everyone speedy deliveries~~~!

I give this one a try...so long ago, high school. But this one....Edgar Allen Poe seemed perverted enough to get this high schoolers attention.

Once upon a midnight dreary while I pondered (the purse forum) weak and weary over many a quaint and curious volume of (Balenciaga) forgotten lore. While I nodded nearly napping suddenly there came a tapping....as of someone gently rapping, rapping at my chamber door.....quoth the raven....nevermore (will I carry anything but Balenciaga )

Now I will look this up and see how close I came.

Here's mine (ahem, ahem)

Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Bal
I sure am a lucky Gal,
'Cause I have a bunch of you--
And my Forum Friends do, too.
When we cannot sleep at night
We read Shakespeare by lamplight, (well, CeeJay does--I read Dr. Seuss)
Brit Lit makes us think of Bags (what doesn't?)
'til our little eyelids sag.
Then we close our tired peepers,
Put our Bals back in their sleepers.
Twinkle, Twinkle, Lovely Bals
Aren't we lucky, Forum Gals (and Guys)?

Ok, I know--CeeJay is way more sophisticated (no surprise, there). But hey-- it's catchy! besides, I blame CeeJay for my bad poetry. She started it.

I LOVE IT!!!!:love::hbeat: Okay .. so, now we have to come up with a rap tune!!

Oooooh .. international entries are very welcome; anyone want to tackle one of my other favorites? .. Dante's Inferno?!?!

I loved Edgar Allen Poe too; the Raven being one of my faves! You did a FABULOUS JOB *max*!!!!

I also had to learn Shakespeare. But I loved it:

But, soft! what light through yonder window breaks?
It is the east, and Juliet is the sun.
Arise, fair sun, and kill the envious moon,
Who is already sick and pale with grief (having bought a counterfeit),
That thou her maid art far more fair(and savvy) than she:
Be not her maid, since she is envious (of her Bals);
Her vestal livery is but sick and green
And none but fools do wear it; (as it is fake) cast it off.

EXCELLENT job *TM*!!! .. I think we need a new thread for our creative "re-wording" of the classics!!!

The vert Fonce work I was getting through Vestiaire Collective had really scuffed corners, all the way through the edging :-( but at least they inspected it and I've decided it's not for me. still here though waiting for my black moto jacket :-)

Wow, I was excited for you to get the VF. I can't believe there was so much damage that was not listed in the description. I'm sorry to hear that. On a brighter note, congrats on your new moto jacket! I know you will rock it!!
