I just ordered a velo in hamilton leather.

Ive not seen this in person so im a little scared.

I hope its a good surprise when I finally get it *fingers crossed*

which color??

I love the velo in the hamilton leather, I bought the chataigne (brown) and it's simply gorgeous. the leather feels kind of stiff at first but wears in gorgeously and quickly .. very very fun esp in the velo!

hi sweetk, I got in the gris poivre.

For some reason my taste is changing a little and wanted to get something that had a little more structure. I still love all my smooshy Bals, but I had the opportunity to get this and had always been curious. I wish a lot more people on the forum had this so there would be more pictures for me to look at, especially gris poivre in this leather in different lighting. Ive seen quite a few reveals of gris poivre in the smooshier leather and it looks a little lighter than hamilton.

Either way, i've never been scared of different, a little apprehensive, but im still excited

Have you put pics of your chataigne up? I'd love to see?

Hm, I'm intrigued now. Can you tell us what it is you are waiting for?

Mine is from 02 and has pewter hardware .... :graucho:
LOL! I didn't mean that they weren't great, merely that I think you already have fantastic ones... I am *very* behind the times!

One is from 02 with the ever fab flat brass :graucho:
It's a bag I've literally been lusting for since it came out in 02 -- though in a different colour... I used to go to NM and drool, stroking it if the SA wasn't looking...

The other is more of a basher bag from 05 in one of my all time favourite Bal colours. I've never had this style but it's been around for ages. And that is was bought for a great price from an insanely sweet TPFer just makes it all the more special!

I'm not sure if I'm alone in this but, since my weakness is for the oldies, I really love when I know where they're coming from and the history. It adds another facet to the bag and just brings a smile to my face when I wear it.

There are so many lovely gals here -- it's like passing around Cinderella's slipper :p

Well, I'm still intrigued now. A flat brass hobo perhaps? (One of my all time favourite styles.) And that 05, hmm, will have to wait to find out what it is.

I agree with you on the passing around, it's extra special knowing where your bag came from. I have a few special bags like this and I treasure them.

On the first, my lips are sealed -- don't want to jinx it getting through Customs :graucho:

Regarding the second, it may be a style that doesn't suit you (if memory serves me -- the search function is down)... It's more practical than the first one, but...

Mind you, my collection is teensy, comparatively, as I prefer to shove everything into the pockets of my leather jacket (an amazingly practical men's RO) so I can be hand's free for my camera.

Alas, my memory was faulty, bad me!

I'll blame it on my craziness, waiting to get my bag! I've never been the patient sort, especially when I know it's been in the country for days :blushing:

I am so curious now but I can wait to find out. Please post pics when you receive your goodies. :smile1:

(I'm a big fan of hands free too, although I tend to carry too much stuff to shove it into pocket.)

The weekender is perfect as a work bag. I find it fits things better than the work. Fingers crossed that you love it.

Thanks so much for your Intel! I've been biting my nails thinking that its gonna look ridiculous on me, I'm fairly tall at 5'10" but I'm also thin so I don't want the bag to engulf me lol haha I feel like fed ex is taking forever!

Ha, I know what you mean. I am not a GH girl, as I can't tolerate any extra weight on my bags...but Anthra RGGH makes me want to reconsider! Can't wait to see yours.

Yes, I finally figured out that what has made me such a Balenciaga convert is seeing all the photos of the bags on so many different people. They just look great on EVERYBODY. If I didn't follow the Forum, I'd probably get tired of the bags, but it's so fun seeing them and following the chats. It keeps me wanting more!
