Collecting Tiffany & Co. charms, worth it...or not??

The only thing I hate about wearing Tiffany charms on bracelets is how beat up they get. I had the blue enamel heart medium I think and I was wearing it as a pendant for 4 months when I got it and it remained looking shiny and beautiful. A month after wearing it on my bracelet it just looked ghastly. I want the large one to wear as a pendant now :p

Yes the charms get beat up very quickly, even after the first couple of wearings. I'm a bit neurotic and don't wear them that often and only when I go out and doing something leisurely where they won't get banged very much. Crazy.

Anyone uses the Sliver polish cloth and got their shiny surface silver scratch?

I was using the cloth provided by T &Co and it got scratch on my brand new heart tag :(

It could be the residue from the polishing agents in the brand new cloth, and not actual scratches. Use a mild dishwashing liquid, like Dawn, and warm water to wash the charm. Then use a soft cotton cloth, like a soft dish towel or t shirt to dry it, and then see if the marks are still there. If so, call or visit Tiffany's to inquire.

hi, thanks for the reply. Used a soft cloth mean for glasses to wipe and it is scratches. It was total brand new and I really blame the cloth given by T&Co. for the the scratches....

Just be careful when you use the cloth. I am probably going to get others than using those given by them.

Thank you for the 2cents worth!

Had you worn the charm at all? Especially if worn on a bracelet, those large flat charms will acquire fine scratches after just 1 wearing. I got a brand new 4 leaf clover charm and that was the case after only a couple of hours of wear. I'm super careful with my jewelry, but it's inevitable unfortunately, sterling silver is a very soft metal.

Well I got my tiffany charm bracelet when I was 13 and I don't really wear it anymore because I feel that its too juvenile. I keep the bracelet as a memory but I never wear it. I also think the charms are a bit overpriced for what they are- especially because the enamel chips after a while

IMHO, I really don't think age enters into it, as far as the charm bracelets go. I see them worn by celebrities of all ages. I'm a grandmother and love my charm bracelets, but I've learned to please myself and not worry about perceived appearances. I imagine the choice of charms could make a difference though, depending on one's preferences.

I received the SS open clasp bracelet & blue enamel gift box as my 42th birthday gift from dear sister 5 years ago. It then ignited my interest in collecting t&co charms as souvenirs of vacations. Now its full, 10 t&co charms plus 2 other non branded ones. I delight in wearing them, especially on weekends & vacations.
