Well, the reason why Coach is so successful (and pretty stable at this point as a stock) is because of their pricing, it aims to provide "affordable luxury".

And like every brand, it's not always for everyone. I like how their styles are constantly changing, and there are so many varieties ! Price tag isn't necessarily a precursor to how much one should love a bag, my favourite bag to this day is still a really old, Gap purse that was 20$. It's great !

I like how LV has a variety of styles yet they never go out of style. All the models will forever be in style, as long as they aren't discontinued.

Some of their special editions have really been questionable, the Robert Wilson bags weren't so great, nor the conte de fees or their towel beach bags. :push:

I've liked Coach less since they started doing all of the logo stuff. But they still have some nice bags, and I just got one of their wallets for a Chanukah gift. They used to have a lifetime guarantee, you could get repairs done free of charge if you sent the bag back to them. Don't know if they still do that.

I do like some of the new Cole Haan bags too, especially the Sierra line.

Hi, they still have that lifetime guarantee. I bought a wallet from them in 2002 .. The wallet was just brought to the store to be fixed, the stiches were coming out where the money slot was. The only problem is waiting- they said 6-8 weeks to be fixed.

I agree with Pseub, I don't really like the coach logo stuff. I have several of their buckets and messenger bags from years ago that I love. I also like Cole Haan and have some that are quite old. Some of their G Series bags are cute!

I use to like coach, but after every single 12 year old owns a tote in my city, I have not wanted to purchase one. It just seems to over-used. That and their prices have gone up. but I still would like a tote, with hot pink handles....

I'm happy that Coach is popular because that means more people are discovering what great bags they are, but when that happens stores usually sell out and start making crap and raising prices. They figure they are so popular they can sell any ugly bag they put out.

I support what GIA said.

I have a few Coach purses and after being on this forum the general feeling that "I" have gotten was that Coach wasn't a "real designer" and it has made me think about my Coachs in a different way.

But now Coach has some more expensive bags in their collection, $600 - $1500 price range they cost as much as the "real designers", so for that price would you rather have a Coach because you love it, or because that is what you are used to and comfortable buying or whould you rather spend that smae money and get a "true designer" brand. For me I want a bag that has a classic design and color that I can use for several years if I'm going to spend $600 or more and if I spend less then I can get the less practacle trendy or fun colored bags.

i first bought coach in the early 80's (ok i'm showing my age;) ) and have never been impressed witht he ability of the leather to withstand everyday life. always looks old and worn very quickly- which is ok if you like the "patina" look.

I agree with fayden, th eprice for coaches have gone up, when a coach bag is worth 700-800? I would rather save a couple hundred more and buy something I am absolutely in love with.. I think coach is a good bag for everyday use as shopping, and running errands, but I like to dress up i guess, so coach isn't my style,
I agree on this too, it depends on what you grew up on, I grew up on LV, so thats what I look for...
