Michael Kors Coach SA's drooling over my Michael Kors python tonight!!!! :O

i've seen two different linings at dept stores, the MK in a circle, and the Michael Kors written. I'm pretty sure.

I only like the Michael Kors Collection bags, which have suede lining. I was disappointed when he knocked off his own line and made ID chain part of the Michael line. I have a Collection bag in ID chain and it is amazing, so sad it is not being made as a Collection piece anymore. I can't get into the Michael stuff because I don't like the cheap nylon MK lining. But the overall leathers in the lower end stuff is pretty nice. If you go to a boutique and can view the few Collection pieces left, those leathers are amazing.

I purposely never take my Coach bags when I shop in the Coach outlet so they don't even have to be concerned that I am shoplifting it. I did one time and the SA tried to ring up my own Coach bag that I bought several months earlier. lol

I think Michael by Michael Kors is the least expensive line he makes, just like all the other designers who make purses......there are always the most expensive, and least expensive! We all have to buy based on what we LIKE, not based on the cost of the purse. There is a thread roaming around here titled "purse or jewelry" or something like that! I would say jewelry over a purse any day of the week!!!!! I LOVE my purses, but there is NOTHING like a GREAT piece of jewelry.....especially if it has diamonds in it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

Funny you should say that about jewellery - maybe I'm just going through a phase (but a few years now) but all my "good" jewellery is sitting locked up in my jewellery box and I've lost all interest in it. I used to love jewellery for Christmas, birthday, anniversary, but I have zero interest in it anymore. Now it's all about bags for me. I actually like what they are doing costume/fun jewellery these days way better than the real thing. I actually like Coach jewellery and Guess jewellery - every time I wear some of my Guess jewellery I get tons of compliments. I think it comes down to the fact that I'm more into trends than classics.

Muranogrl - if you go on the Kors website and play around you will learn the differences in the lines that Kors puts out. Of course nothing beats feeling the difference in store, and once you handle the higher end bags you will certainly know the difference.

Search under "Shop by Collection".

But apparently the SA told me that his favorite bag right now is the suede Astor, which is not one of the pricier bags.

The SA told me that all of Kors leathers are Italian, but that only his pricier lines are actually made in Italy - the tag will tell the tale as to whether it's made in China or made in Italy.

While I love the leathers in the higher end bags, many times I actually prefer the styles of the less pricey lines.

^^That was me, too!!!!!!!! I have a HUGE FULL jewelry box and never wore any of it......then I started working in a VERY formal business office last year and the jewelry love started up again!!!!! I love to match my "stones" to my outfits daily.....VERY addicting for me like bags!!! LOL

Now I'm even more confused. I thought the linings on the retail bags were all a light creamy color with the MK in the circle, and I thought all MFF bags had a black lining.

But in the pics posted above the boutique bag has a dark lining with the circle logo and the MFF bag has a light lining without the circle logo.

So I think the only thing we are certain of at this point is that the boutique bags have the MK circle logo and the MFF bags do not - but the lining color doesn't seem to indicate whether it's MFF or boutique.

Clear as mud? :p

I'm sorry! lol

Most of the retail black Mk bags have a light beige lining, where as the MFF bags have black bags with black linings. Sometimes ;) More on that later in this post........;)

I was in Nordstrom this weekend, and compared the regular MICHAEL line to mine from the outlet. The difference is exactly as you describe, Aunt Flo. But I still love my bag (except that I have no dustbag )

WithFrises - I'm sure you do love it. And I realized that I am in love with a MFF bag, and can't deny it. It's almost like lovin' the boy from the wrong side of the tracks. Sometimes you gotta go with your gut. I'm going to get that bag.

I saw them at Marshalls yesterday with the two different linings. :confused1: So confusing. The ones' with the silky lining were a different grade of leather and had subtle differences, much like the MFF bags. And no key clasp.

I'll ask the SA's what the scoop is once and for all when I get back to the outlet.

Maybe someone who works at Macy's knows?

^^

No MK at my Winners in Regina, Sk. I did spot some Rebecca Minkoffs, Kate Spade and Badgley Mischkas last time I was there. The prices are still pretty steep at Winners. I'd rather get my Kors from Ebay/Bonanzle.

Marshalls has some MK? Crissy, have you looked at winners for MK? That's Marshalls in Canada... same company.

No, I'm not much of a Winners fan - the place always looks like a bomb went off in there and I have no patience for sifting through it all. I saw some Coach stuff there once that was so ugly I thought for sure they must be fakes. Ended up being MFF stuff but the most hideous stuff ever. I'm not anti-MFF at all, but I am anti-ugly, and this stuff was hideous. So I would't hold out much luck of finding any good MK there. I'd rather shop in the beautiful stores anyway.

What is Winners? I did hear that Annie Sez has MK bags......I wish I had one closer to me.....I am going to the mall tomorrow to "visit" the Hamilton tote.....still not decided on graphite OR dark purple......decisions!!!!!
