That bag is super pretty!!!

I do notice that no matter what I'm carrying into Coach, the SAs compliment. Yesterday I went in with a Vera Bradley and the SA went on about how cute and comfortable they are. And this was a male SA to boot! In the past, I've carried Coach into the store so it made sense to me that they'd comment but after the vera Bradley comments I think they just say this to everyone.

Thank you...it is super comfy, too!!!!
Not in my Coach stores!!!!! If you walk in with a Vera Bradley they STARE at you and not in a "nice way"!!! I went with my mother on several occassions, who needs to carry a Vera for her back and shoulder issues, and I noticed two SA's making funny faces at it and whispering as they were looking at it. I almost said something to them! I have also gone into Coach stores with other bags and nobody commented at all! I dont think they say this to everyone.....IMO I think they were just lovin the python :p LOLOLOL

Cute story, but I doubt that Coach would tell them that they are not "allowed" to speak of other designers. The SA was being nice and complimented your bag (and she was also being a good salesperson by attempting to make some sort of personal connection with her client).
Lovely python bag though:)

OH DEFINITELY!!!!! I would TOTALLY doubt that Coach would have said that to their employees, too!!!!!.....I just found it odd (and very funny!!!!) that FOUR SA's said the EXACT same thing!!!! and sounded VERY alike while saying it too!!!! :smile1:

Since the Kors outlet was mentioned, I do have a question. We have a Kors outlet at our mall, but I've only walked in and out once.

Someone had stated (somewhere around this forum, though I'd then gone out and found similar info on some "fashion blog") that most bags in the Kors outlet are made for factory/made for the outlets. That they do get a few "boutique/retail transfers", but that most are made for factory and that one should be aware of this if shopping there. (Pretty much the same set-up as a Coach outlet, in other words.)

So I guess my question is: how does one tell a Kors made-for-factory from a boutique transfer?

I'm on an MK learning curve myself, so I hope someone can chime in with a for sure answer, but I think I read on here that the lining is one way to tell - the boutique bags have a linen color siggy lining, and I read that the MFF bags have a black lining with MK stamped on . . . can anyone confirm or deny this please and thanks?

I know Coach MFF bags have an F for Factory in their serial number - does MK do anything like this?

^^that's interesting, I didn't realize that MK does factory bags too, like Coach does. I love the leather on MK bags, so soft and squishy! Love your bag by the way, it's gorgeous. MK does a lot of python bags....I don't think he's ever NOT done python.

Yes they have MFF like Coach. There are two types of lining, one is silky lining with 'Michael Kors' lettering, which I believe to be MFF. The other is a linen/jacquard with MK in a circle. All the bags at the outlet had the silky lining. I have to make another trip to the outlet, :p when I do will ask an SA about the MFF bags to be 100% positive that is the case in how to distinguish MFF from retail. But it appears so.

You can see an example of regular retail bags interior here:

MK w/ circle, and key clasp

MFF version (no key clasp):

^That seller has a lot of outlet bags, so that's why I refer to their pics. Not my auction. You can get these bags at the outlet cheaper. ;)

Now I'm even more confused. I thought the linings on the retail bags were all a light creamy color with the MK in the circle, and I thought all MFF bags had a black lining.

But in the pics posted above the boutique bag has a dark lining with the circle logo and the MFF bag has a light lining without the circle logo.

So I think the only thing we are certain of at this point is that the boutique bags have the MK circle logo and the MFF bags do not - but the lining color doesn't seem to indicate whether it's MFF or boutique.

Clear as mud? :p
