This might be an interesting rehab. I have this same bag but with camel trim instead of orange and tangerine. It's a Bonnie Foldover Convertible Tote 13400 and it is one of my favorites.

The body of the bag is made of straw but it is very finely woven - almost like linen. I'm guessing that it would be okay to give it a bath! I'm not going to get it because I have this bag, but if another rehabber feels adventurous - go for it!

It's a large bag and it is wider than it looks in these ebay pics because you can unzip the half-zipper on the bottom and it opens up to show the leather underneath; it's a beautiful bag that originally sold for $498.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can do to keep the end of this strap on my Ace secure? It's doesn't have the extra leather loop that most bags have on the strap to hold it down. It just kind of flaps around without that loop. Right now I just have a rubber band holding it down but I'd like something maybe a little more classy [emoji5]

The Universe must have heard my complaints on the Vintage thread about the sad state of my thrift stores. They sure delivered today! I'm so used to dealing with problem bags, that I'm feeling a little disoriented by one in pretty good condition.
Had to cash in all my coupons, as this one was locked in the case. Worth it!

Great find! I must ask, how much did the thrift store price it at?

See the link below for my solution to the same problem, but it is along the same lines as your rubber band method. I used small, rubber o-ring gaskets; I found black ones at the hardware store for 25 cents each but you can buy them online in multiple colors. If you come up with a better solution please let us know!

Thanks! Maybe if I can find a them in a red that's close to the color of the edge paint on the bag that will work.

So, I found some on eBay in red. But I'm not sure what size to get. Do you remember the size you used?

No sorry, I only needed them in black and I found them at the local hardware store (I took the purse with me). Do they give the inner diameter for the ones on ebay? How wide is your strap?

It sold for $29 plus shipping, I hope it went to a good home!
