It is pretty hard without damaging the leather. You could try acetone.
Ok, I'll have to think about that. Or, I may just be happy that it lived quite a life before coming to me!

Covering the green paint with black paint would probably be the safest and easiest option IMO.
I would have dunked her but that's me. I dunked a Brahmin recently mainly because the fixed lining was so grotty and it was the only way I could get it really clean.Ok, I know this isn't a Coach bag, but, I need some suggestions on rehabbing her. This is a Fossil bag I picked to today for $5 that is fairly dirty and is missing edge paint in some areas. Here is a before picture. I've since done 2 coats of Leather CPR and she's much cleaner (still drying, I'll post an update tomorrow). Any suggestions regarding the edges and the cracked edge paint? Also there are a couple pen marks that didn't come up. She's so soft and such a lovely mossy green. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated....I'm afraid to dunk her....eek!
Wow! I would never have thought you would get those spots out. Great job Joodlz!
Wow again! The wristlet in particular has come up so well. I'll have to hunt around for that Soilove stuff.
Wow, these two... very impressive! From what I heard from you and Whateve, Soilove is a great stuff, and yes, I did see it somewhere on Amazon 2 for 1... no, they don't sell it at the dollar stores here in NH... but I found some Mean Green at Dollar Tree the other day (I probably sound like those annoying TV ads now - "but I saved tons of money by switching to Geiko"). I really hope I will never have to use that stuff on any of my bags though...Thanks for sharing your experience, Joodlz!

Sometimes ...if you're lucky....paint will "lift off" with just a good warm sudsy soak. Of course it depends on what kind of paint and how long it's been there!

Pen marks are so hard to remove from leather. If they're new rubbing alcohol sometimes works.
Edge Kote is the product you need for the edges. I bought some the other day. Haven't used it yet but there's a number of examples on this thread where its been used with success. The store I got mine from had it in black, brown and tan.
Coach943 talks about it here at post #1319 and provides a link to a successful project.

I've just done my first bag bath! I was a little nervous but so far it looks fine. Question: how damp should the bag be when I use some Leather Therapy on it? Very damp, or almost dry? Or does it really matter?
I've only done a few baths/rehabs, but I apply CPR when it's almost dry. I was nervous when I did my first bath, too.....but the bath does wonders!! It's my favorite part of the process.
Ok, here's an update of the Fossil bag. Look at that pretty green! So much more vibrant that my first shot. Definitely less burnishing. This is also where there is a little pen mark, I think the pebbleyness hides it.
Also, another picture of the edge kote. What color do you think that is? Tan, maybe?
Do you think Fossil is copying Coach with a creed? Here is theirs too.
Now to go dunk and scrub the handles...
Thanks for all your help!
