Thank you so much for the tips!

It's definitely worth a try!
Another thing you could try if you don't get the shine you want. Get some acrylic varnish in the craft department. Mix it with conditioner and apply to your bag. I'm thinking that way you can get a subtle shine rather than making it overly shiny. But try the Blackrocks first.

I have my work cut out for me!

I just got a pre-loved Coach F18826 Optic Lexi in Ivory/Champagne in the mail today from eBay.

The seller listed in in good condition, but it's definitely in poor condition. And it reeks of Ivory bar soap. Surprisingly, it's not the jacquard that's in poor condition, but the leather.

The leather is worn, discolored and very dry. At first sight, it almost looks dry like suede. It needs a facelift. I should probably recolor it.

Any suggestions on what to do first?

That's a wonderful idea! Thank you!

My husband thinks I am crazy for wanting to spend so much time (and money) on these rehab projects. :D

Do everything else on the bag such as cleaning the fabric and lining before you tackle the leather. I'd try Leather CPR on the leather to see if it revives any. I think the trim would be a good candidate for Leather Refinisher by Wood'n'Stuff.

Yes, the Leather Refinish sounds like a very good idea. Looking at their color chart, would you suggest Cream or Vanilla? Bone might even work. (I've attached a picture with the color that it's supposed to be.)

Vanilla seems like the lightest one. I bought it to touch up a bag and it is a little too yellow and dark. I'm planning on buying some white and mixing them to get the right color. I can't tell but your bag might be close to the same color I need. Maybe cream and white mixed together would be best. You only need to buy the one ounce bottles since that will be plenty for the trim.

ETA: while you're at it, if you plan on doing a lot of rehabs, you might want to get a bottle of black. It comes in very handy.

I really appreciate your insight. I would have never thought to buy two and mix them, but it makes perfect sense to do this. Thanks for the tip about buying the black, too! :smile1:

Open a SNAD case? :p

LOL

No, I don't really want to do that. :smile1: Luckily, I didn't spend too much on it. I think I can get it fixed up. But I should leave some kind of feedback, I guess.

Why not contact the seller and ask what a resolve can be? Does the seller sell many bags or was this just one of few? Not trying to say it's okay to under describe the condition but I'd at least offer the seller a chance to fix it.

Hey Rehab ladies! What are some good brass cleaner/polishes besides Brasso? I usually clean the brass before and sometimes during the bath process, but no matter how well I think I rinse it away, there is almost always some white residue that shows up later. Usually somewhere impossible, like the inside of the fastener of the hangtags ball chain. There's a pile of otherwise ready to carry bags sitting beside the Dremel waiting on me to stop procrastinating. I have Wenol in my shopping cart on Amazon, but would love to hear what you love or hate about it. Other brand recommendations would be appreciated too.
Thanks!
